Before yesterday evening, this had been a crazy week. Brenton's arrival, trip up to Whistler to drop him off, socializing in Whistler, classes, meetings, experiments, still kinda sick, next week is the last week of the term, etc etc etc. Yesterday evening after a very full day at Westcan and in class, Brenton called. When I broke my collar bone, sleeping was the most difficult thing... Except, Codeine saved the day. Did he get any medication? If so, what? I'm not sure if you remember, but the day after I broke my collar bone, I performed in the school play, and nobody in the audience could tell that anything was wrong with me.

The first few days are the worst, it'll start getting better gradually and he should be able to start using that arm probably sometime next week. I don't know how bad of a break it is, but I was able to function after not too long. I also found that the sling was unnecessary after the first week.

In addition to the sling, the doctors gave me some sort of padded vest-like thing that helps keep everything in place. I didn't use it during the day, but I found it helped me sleep at night.

The most important thing was the drugs. Get him some kick-ass pain-killers, and he'll be better than ok. Codeine (Tylenol-3) worked wonders for me.

Come to think of it, you were in that play too. Heheh. I had to try to kiss you. That was funny. So, yeah, if you remember, that was the day after I broke my collar bone, and I was able to function for the most part.

Ben's right. Codeine works, and time passing will help. I went swimming about 3 weeks after I broke mine. I ended up ugly bruised, but it was ok. It shouldn't hurt your two-weeks together too much, depending on how much he whimpers for your attention, that is. :)

Besides the fact that this will limit our ability to do all the things we had planned for the next two weeks

Is it just me, or is this a euphamism for lots of sex?

Anyway, I'm sad sex will be difficult for you guys. I hope he gets better soon.

maybe...

other things too, like massages, cooking, anything in a crowded place where someone might bump into him, etc. I would also like it if he could sleep in my bed with me. Maybe soon.
