Well 1 out of 2 of my predictions came to pass.  Eight Belles did place second. She passed the wire only 4& 3/4 lengths behind winner Big Brown.  Sadly though as they rounded the second turn after the wire, both of her front ankles broke and she went down.  The vets only option was to euthanize her because in order for a horse to be able to heal,

I just heard about this, this morning. Poor horsey. It breaks my heart to hear of such things.
