OH no about the ivy, sneaky ivy shame on it! I know what you mean about vacation time and having to use it for something other than a decent vacation. *hugs*
I don't think I'm allergic to it either...for as many times as I've gone tearing though the woods, I've never had poison ivy. However, I have a friend that is extremely allergic.
There is a med that will wash it right off you, Andi ... it's new and it works, I swear it. Zeo is highly reactive to ivy/sumac/oak and this knowledge comes to me from a physician (who is also a sufferer) after two different very long term episodes and several courses of prednisone

It sounds like I need to go get some. I do know that I wouldn't have been able to use it on my eye lid, which was my major concern. I had poison ivy so bad my Junior year in high school that my eyes swelled shut and I had it in my mouth and throat. I was worried that I might get a reoccurrence of that nightmare. Tecnu have a small window where you can apply it to be effective. It is also an excellent product for stripping the oil off of your skin and you can wash your clothes in it too. I missed the window. My favorite product is Ivy Dry. It works great and if you keep it in the fridge it has a cooling sensation that immediately alleviates the itch. Rhuli Gel which now is sold under the name Band Aid brand Anti-Itch gel. Solarcaine and Dermaplast and Calendula gel is also a must for burns and poison ivy.

Thank you for the compliment. I actually built the fort so that I could be able to concentrate on homework. The boys really don't like the back yard and I needed them to play in it because it is so much safer than the front yard.
