Saturday - Out On The Dancefloor

So I have kinda strange taste for what makes me dance, and I'm not sure how much of this you'd even hear out at a club or anything, but in general?  These are the tunes that get me grooving.  Yes, I did just say grooving.  I'm that cool.

-"The Time Warp" from Rocky Horror.  I don't care which version, the movie's classic but I think the 2000 revival cast with Daphne Rubin-Vega and Raul Esparza is badass.  Either way... you can bet that I will be doing the Time Warp, again, and again, and again, any time I hear it.  I'll even hop on the nearest speaker in lieu of a jukebox and pretend to be Columbia.  I am so awesome.

-Anything by CSS.  They're this... I think they're Brazilian?  Something like that... group that rocks my socks off.  Their name stands for Cansei De Ser Sexy, which means "tired of being sexy."  Love it.  I think my favorite danceable tunes of theirs right now are "Alala," "Let's Make Love and Listen to Death From Above" and "Music Is My Hot, Hot Sex."

-Is it weird that everytime I hear "Under the Blacklight" or "Moneymaker" off Rilo Kiley's album Under the Blacklight I start dancing like I'm in a room full of strobe lights?  I DO.

-I'm not a huge Maroon 5 fangirl, but their song "Secret" is beautiful for blues dancing to.  Um.  Yes.

-One of the best blues dances I ever had was to a cover of "Ne Me Quitte Pas."  I have no idea who was singing, though.  It wasn't the original by Jacques Brel, it was a woman singing, but... mmm.  So good.

-Here's a song I like to rock out to in my room, because it'd never in a million years be played at a club, but I can't listen to it while sitting still.  "Totally Fucked" from Spring Awakening.  I bounce around like an idiot every time I listen to that song.

-Another blues song?  "Mercy" by Duffy.  YES.

-Anything from Hairspray makes me dance, too.

-And I love to rave to "Are You Gonna Be My Girl?" by Jet.

I'm sure there are others, but... that's just a nice little sampling.
