thursday // absolute power
Tonight's topic is absolute power. Would you accept it at all, if it were offered to you? What would you use it for? Does absolute power always corrupt? Would it corrupt you? Why or why not?
Power? Well, as a Knight of Ratatosk, I'm supposed to have access to Ratatosk's power... and he was supposed to be really powerful. I mean, he had control over every monster in the world, and therefore all mana. And even though he's asleep, his power possesses me when I fight or make pacts with monsters to bring them back to our side.
But... I didn't do this because I wanted to. Not at first. I wanted to protect Marta and then go home, but I got wrapped up in everything else. Maybe it's just as well... My aunt and uncle didn't really want me there anyway.
I guess what I'm trying to say is, I don't think it'll corrupt me. Most of the time, I'm me. I'm only the other me when I fight or when I get really mad, I guess. I'm not really one to talk about power though, since I consider myself pretty weak... but I'm going to try my best.
I have to protect Marta. I can't depend on her protecting me anymore! That's... that's shameful...
But that's all I need power for, and I swear-- I'll learn how to protect her by myself, too!
