Thanks! Do you have a camera in mind? If you're trying to decide, www.dpreview.com (I'm going on memory, but I think that's right) allows you to do side-by-side comparisons, which is pretty helpful.
Me, too, on the camera envy.... I just bought a (cheap) digital, just to have a digital with more than .7 megapixels, so it will be a while... what kind do you have?
Good to hear from you again, btw. Are you in the midst of moving, or are you at the new place yet?
I'm often very pleased with the results from my cheap-ish digital camera (a Canon Elph, bought for its convenient size), so don't discount what you have!
This photo was taken with my Nikon D-70S, a camera I mostly love but occasionally hate. I have lighting issues that I just can't seem to remedy -- but I can't really blame the equipment for user error. :-) I got some good advice last night from a photog at work, so I'm looking forward to getting a chance to practise again one day. I'm self-taught, so it's a tedious process with lots of trial and error. I also don't use Photoshop, so I pretty much hope for good results right out of my camera.
I'm in the midst of moving cross-country... and so many other things, including Charlotte's broken arm and the never-ending series of appointments, X-rays and casts! I'll update properly soon, I hope. It'll be good to catch up with everyone -- hope you're well.
