Ever since returning home to Sweden I have been super busy with all kinds of things. But now I finally decided to sit down and write a few sentences about my trip back home and about what I have been doing back home in Sweden.
As many of you know I got extremely sick just a few days before my flight home. I had a fever, a sore throat- which made it feel like I had a knife stuck in it whenever I coughed, and it all made me feel utterly powerless. I had never been this sick since I moved to Japan, so it was just my luck for it to happen when I was the most busy.
Something regarding this all is that when I first came to Japan I was sick with a fever as well. At that time I got some medicine from an old man owning a store across my apartment. He gave me two pills. One I took at that very night, while I always saved the second one. So I drank it when I got sick this time. Kinda ironic that I used one when I came and one when I leave.
The night before my flight I stayed at a friend's place. He was a real angel, giving me food and lending me his bed for the night.
On the 20th, I got up 4.45, got all my stuff together and went to catch one of the first trains in the morning. My friend even helped me with this, carrying my heavy baggage to the train station.
I got on the train, changed to the monorail and then I arrived at the airport. Everything there went pretty good. When I checked in my baggage it was 12kg overweight *gulp* but the lady signed me up for a card , so no problems or extra fee there.
After boarding the flight I sat tense while we took off (hate flying!) and as the plane tilted to one side, I begged silently that the pilot would stop trying to act cool as Baloo from Disney's "Tail Spin" and would fly me safe.
From the first flight, landing in Peking, getting on the next flight and landing in Sweden, everything really went perfectly fine.
I reunited with my little sister and mother at the airport and then we drew back "home".
It felt so strange to once again gaze on the Swedish scenario, strange in a positive way.
In my head I kept repeating the sentence "I'm home again", to fasten my feelings of environment change.
As soon as I got inside the doors it only took me a few seconds to notice my cat's and scream out their names in joy. And even though we had been separated for 9months, my lovely cats still seemed to remember me, and welcomed me home.
Afterwards I ran around the house to check all the rooms, the things that have changed and the things that remained the same. My family was also eager to show me things.
We later took it easy, chatting while watching tv. Then at one point I mentioned for fun that I had now been up a whole day, my mom immediately made me jump to bed, like a child, lol.
And so ended my day of traveling across half the world, from Japan to Sweden, from my temporary home to my old home.
My big adventure in Japan have now come to an end, but before me I believe that a new one awaits.
Through my first day back in Sweden I mostly took it easy, since I was still rather sick. But later on in the evening we baked some gingerbreads - surely a most do in Christmas times. While baking, we always end up eating too much of the dough since it is just to delicious XP
The next day, on the 22th, I went to meet up with 3 of my childhood friends to exchange Christmas presents while eating some homemade pizza *yum* It was so nice to see them again.
On the 23th we rushed around at home with the cleaning and finishing touches before Christmas eve. We took in the chopped down tree and dressed it together in the evening. We also baked one of my favorite Christmas bun/cake called "Lussebulle". The regular version is decorated with raisin, but the version we make is Lussebullar filled with a kind of almond mass (tastes like marzipan). *Yummmi*
Christmas eve came way too fast, I almost couldn't believe that the day I had been looking forward to so much had finally arrived.
Even though it is late to write about it, I love Christmas eve enough to just put it into this already to long post. So I will write about it separately later.
Anyway, before noticing it half January has already passed. But I will still try to catch up with old posts and start writing more frequently (hopefully) ^___^
