New Years Eve, Mine & My little sisters birthday

Jan 19, 2011 19:01

Time to catch up to another one of the year best day = New Years Eve, which is also my birthday ^^

I woke up in the morning and were told "Happy birthday" by my family, while getting a present from my little sister and her boyfriend. My sister gave me a gift card to H&M (my favorite cloth store), while her bf gave me a "Final Fantasy 20th anniversary" book.  ( I totally love the FF-serie!!!)
We skipped breakfast and instead ate on a restaurant, a tradition my family do on someone's birthday. At first we had some trouble choosing one, but in the end we ate at a place called "Cupido".

The food was really good, probably also because I had such a great company with me.

We were 7 in all: Me, my mom, my brothers and sister +  her bf and one of my brothers gf (-met her for the first time on that day).

After the breakfast/lunch we headed home. The others relaxed for a bit while I got a visit from two of my friends. We talked a bit, but mostly sang some "Singstar" (=Ps2 karaoke).  During that time I also made a lot of preparation for the nights party. After both of my friends went home, I packed my stuff and went over to another friends house. She had been too sick to leave her house, but resisted that she should at least fix my makeup, which I happily accepted ^^
All finished, I headed to the train station, where I met up with my little sister. On the train we met up with one of my close friends and the 3 of us later met up with "our ride" to the party.

The name of the traditional party place is called "Sandby", a really small place out in the country. The benefits from partying there is that there are no neighbors to complain and the place is so big that half of the people coming are able to sleep there afterwards.
Arriving there a lot of friends I hadn't seen since I left for Japan welcomed me with big hugs and many happy birthdays. I got all nostalgic and just felt at home together with everyone.

The party continued a long nicely and around 23.00 everyone gathered to sing for me and to give me presents. I then finally relieved to everyone about the secret I had kept for several months = That I wasn't just back in Sweden for a short visit, but that I had actually moved back home again.

A third of the people shouted happily, a third were shocked and the rest of the people were too drunk to understand anything at all XP.

For me it was just hilarious to see everyone's expression ^___^

As the clock ticked close to the 24.00, we all gathered outside to make a countdown. An awful snowstorm poured down over us, but all catch up in the moment we just continued to celebrate. We lighted some small sparkles (-Tomtebloss) as we said good bye to the old year and welcomed the new one.

The party continued until morning, with people going to sleep at different times. I had hoped to stay up until 7.00, but regrettably I was too tired and went to bed around 3.00.

On the first day of the new year I woke up around 10.00.  My mom came and fetched my little sister, since she wanted to rest some more at home before celebrating her birthday.

I stayed behind, since one of the last thing to "Sandby parties" is the chat we have in the morning, discussing things from the night before etc

I stayed to about 16.00, when my friends drove me home. The ride was on about an hour, so arriving home in the evening, I felt a need to hurry and celebrate my little sisters birthday.

Like I maid I ran around and asked if she needed anything or wanted to do something. I think I got a bit in the way of her time with her bf, but she also said that she appreciated that I took her birthday so serious  :3

Me being born on New year eve, and my little sister on Januari 1, our birthdays have almost always been celebrated together. But as we have gotten older we have been going to different parties, making the celebrations different.

That's also especially why I was so happy to have my little sister to a Sandby party this year.

It just really was a great birthday ^____^

ps, I will fill this post with some photos later.

friends, new year, birthday, family
