*strrrrrrrrrretch*

Well, yest. was great. I didn't get any sleep at all fri. night (due to coughing), so I took it easy yest. morning. One of the 'usual suspects' came around 2:30, and we got an extremely late breakfast (during which, it RAINED! YAY!). Afterwards, we decide we need a psychic/spiritual outing', so we start off to a place we go to, in Sherman Oaks.

En route there, we stop at our local WaMU, for some $$. On our way out of the parking lot, we see, streaking across the sky, a commercial liner with it's r/h engine on fire (complete with flames). We figure that it's going to detour to Burbank, but instead it just continued inland, toward and over the mountains (by this time, it was no longer had flames, but still smoking). I haven't heard anything re: this, on the news, which is a real puzzlement. I just hope those poor peeps got whereever they were going, in one piece :-/

So we shake that off, and we proceed to the Psychic Eye. This isn't one of my fave locations, as I almost always wind up nauseous and dizzy and my forehead itches like crazy. But this time wasn't so bad. I meandered, and looked at candles and tarot decks, and had a mini reading with a seer from Brazil. The jury is still out with me re; the accuracy of such individuals, but I have to admit that there were more than a few moments of my jaw dropping ... the reason I said this is she would say things, not as questions fishing for more info, so she could say what I want to hear, but state them as fact. Scary thing being, she'd be right ....

*shudder*

That over, we head to a wee little coffee haus, and have some tea. As we were getting ready to leave, my friends, Denny and Devon, drive by, and park across the street. I then realized that we were right by where Denny lives ... heehee! So we say our hellos, and Denny and I touch base re; the karaoke gigs on weds and sat. Sat. may not happen depending on his schedule, and whether the bar decides that it absolutely needs it for that night. I'll keep you locals posted ;-)

We then head to Rite Aid, so I can get more meds, n stuff. A wonderful thing that I found was something called 'vaporizer in a bottle'. It is a simple bottle (about the size of a bottle of aspirin) which you peel off the foil covering, and pull up this 'wick', which is soaked in, and releases, some sort of aromantic goodness. There's no electricity or water required, and it's good for multiple uses, and is completely portable (home, car, office, etc.). I'm also going to see if refilling it with 'vapo steam' liquid will help, too, when it's own aromantic properties wear off. But, yes, I put it on my nightstand, with the wick up about 1", and I slept like a baby :-) Good stuff, Maynard!

After Rite Aid, we head to Trader Joe's, but before hand, go to Farm Boy, which is this wunnerful (and way reasonably priced) organic produce store, in the same center. I found some lovely shallots, and some garlic, and some nummie yams, which I can't wait to roast this week :-9

TJ's found me getting the following: dried fettucine, a whole bunch of those chicken lemongrass curry rice bowls, some organic peanut butter, a nice big jar of fresh strawberry jam, shepherd's bread, Vinta crackers, fresh blue lake green beans, brown eggs, and havarti cheese slices.

At that point I head home, hang out for a while, and *finally* get some sleep.

Today will see me puttering around here, and right now, I'm thawing out a couple of cornish hens, which I'll prepare with fresh shallots, garlic, and lavender, with stuffing, and fresh sautee'd green beans :-9

That's all from here .. I hope everybody's w/e is going well :-D
