Chilling, and very like him... maybe the beats make it hard for him to remember how they started? It definitely could have an effect on his concentration, so doubt it could do that to his memory. Loved this :)

Did you see "The End of Time"? The episode explains why the Master couldn't remember, but definitely the drumbeats would interfere with his concentration!
