Watson's Wonderful Life, part IV

Dec 08, 2010 16:57

Back on the street, Watson looked frantically about for Henry Baker.

The man seemed to appear out of nowhere, leaning solemnly against a lamppost, his round profile haloed in a cloudy yellow beam.

“I tried to go home,” Watson panted when he got within Baker’s earshot, “but Mrs. Hudson didn’t know me, and the place was filled with-”

Aww, poor Watson. He should know that Holmes would be totally lost without him.

Very nice and sweet fic, thank you for sharing it. :)

And thank you for reading it! The canon audience seems to have dwindled lately, so it's extra nice to know when someone appreciates a canon/Granada fic. BTW, I love your avatar. :)

I always appreciate a well-written canon/Granada fic and was very happy to see you had posted something new, you're one of my favourite authors. :)

This is a gorgeous crossover - absolutely warmed my heart. A world without Watson is unimaginable! Thanks for this lovely story.

I enjoyed this SO MUCH! I'm already planning on reading it again on Christmas Eve to put me in a holiday mood. I think you did a lovely job changing everyone's circumstances with Watson not around to take care of them. I love Mrs. Hudson's hanging mistletoe for them, and even Lestrade stays to keep Holmes company - taking care of the pair at the center of their little universe. I adored the moment in The Blue Carbuncle when Mrs. Hudson wakes Holmes up and he tells her to go away - sleepy, grumpy Holmes is adorable, and I love it even more now that I can picture Watson hiding under the bedclothes. Well done, my dear. My only complaint is that it isn't twice as long so I could spend more time absorbed.

Aw, you sweet lovely little devil duck. Here I was worried it was too long. :) Thanks for the kind words and ongoing support for my writing endeavors. Hope it's as rewarding to read on the 24th, or any other day you decide to come back. You know you're welcome here anytime.

This was brilliant. Having never actually seen 'It's a Wonderful Life', I fear I am entirely spoiled for it, but somehow I do not care in the least because this was completely worth it :D

Err, very late comment is inexcusably late, but I was saving it for a time when I would have an uninterrupted moment to read it all. Merry Christmas!

Oh, what a sweet thing to say. And late comments are just as good as early ones. :) Merry Christmas to you, too.

I just found your LJ and have been enjoying all of your stories.
This one was so perfect and it combined my favourite Christmas movie with my OTP. What more could a slashy fan-girl ask for?

Thank you for sharing your impressive talents. I look forward to reading more on your site.
