... Hahahaha let's see how long this gets.
☼ First Meeting: Another one of those Kazuha's first day meetings! What's so different about this one was that Crow took too long to introduce himself and Kazuha was grouchy, so he earned himself the nickname of "Spiky-han" and she's been calling him that ever since-- mainly when he's gone and annoyed her, sometimes just as a term of endearment.
What's also different is that there was the amusement park thing going on, so Crow offered to be a tour guide, and that... did not go so well, if you count him breaking out the lasso and adventures in the funhouse and with the teacups and the Ferris wheel. In which he not only took her first kiss (and second and third) but managed to tick her off quite a bit and see him as the world's biggest idiot. If he hadn't told her then and there that he was going to make things up to her, she would've been thrilled if she never saw him again for the rest of her island stay.
In the long run, though, Crow is the main reason why Kazuha didn't give herself too much of a heart attack and get severely depressed over being trapped here. From the minute they started arguing, it was something familiar-- because she and Heiji were always like that, and focusing her energy on being snappy made for a great distraction. So you could say it was almost like having Heiji with her, with some very obvious differences. AT THIS POINT, Crow is a very annoying thief (hngh) who Kazuha's decided she'll tolerate but isn't too sure she likes the idea of becoming good friends with. Unfortunately for her, he's also piqued her interest about him and the world he's from, and it's almost a matter of pride that she has to prove that authorities like Security aren't that bad, so their interaction is now pretty much ensured.
TO SUM IT UP, they are already throwing (Crow), kissing (unwillingly), and arguing with each other ON THE VERY FIRST DAY.
☼ Best Moment(s): oh hahahaha /PULLS OUT WHITEBOARD
- Handcuffs! Bantering and bickering was inevitable, but Kazuha also got the chance to see how his D-Wheel worked and managed to understand for the first time (after she stopped screaming BECAUSE HE SUCKS AT GIVING WARNINGS) what he meant by it symbolizing freedom and it was when he was explaining the Duel Monster thing to her and Maka and she saw the way his D-Wheel was used for the same thing, it was her first step to not seeing it as just some... very odd game.
- ... I just liked this one, though it's super short. It was when Kazuha was chibified and Crow... wasn't, and she thought his Markers were pretty, so he offered to draw some on her face for her and she was so happy. (I'm sure she facepalmed a ton when she turned back to normal.)
- Kazuha actually learning about Duel Monsters, since Crow declared that he wanted to be her partner to help out with aikido, so she thought it'd only be fair to help him practice, and that meant learning the game herself. Also memorable because he told her that she definitely had a purpose of her own, and not just as somebody's "follower", which made her feel a lot better about Heiji being a moron.
- Exploring the island, which turned into hiding out in an abandoned shack-thing when it started storming oops. :( Kazuha got unnerved, and Crow decided to keep her mind off things by telling her a story! ... Of course, since it's Crow, he told it in a REALLY DORKY MANNER, but it was also the story about Jack being a bastard and Yusei being awesome, so Kazuha learned a lot (and got some story about the Dark Signers and his kids too)! And after that they were both stubborn and dorky, but :(
- Doctor-made snow! And the stuff that stems from it, including the double-date with the ice-skating and the sledding and sadly since SOMEONE IMPERSONATED HER, she never got to make snowmen and have snowball fights with him. :( But Kazuha taught Crow how to make a snow fort and that somehow... eventually led to dancing, and talk about bonds, which was when Crow told her that they were connected by a bond and that, if they were ever separated, all he'd have to do is follow it and he'd find her. Kazuha being a big believer in bonds (sup childhood) and me being gay, it was just-- really sweet, shut up.
- MEMORIIIIIIIEEEEEEEES. I just loved this event in general, since I'm all for people getting to know more about each other, and what better way to do it than to witness their memories for themselves? Though Kazuha could have done without the... clown and... Team Satisfaction why the capes oh my god. What really got her was seeing Crow's reaction to his kids being killed, and since she's one of those easily sentimental types, she was very ;A; when that memory finished. It didn't help that Crow finally told her about Kiryu and how he'd killed an officer, but it was a strong indication of how much they trusted each other, and she ended up telling him that she wasn't as strong as Heiji when it came to all the damned murder cases and how she actually hated it, but support is first priority, etc.
- Mistletoe thread, A++ for awkwardness and both of them... most likely not realizing they were attracted to each other until they kissed and after that, Kazuha was very embarrassed and flustered and all that good stuff. Plus, Crow asked her on a date in the best, most... tactless way ever. And Kazuha (channeled Kaitou Kid) was brave enough to kiss him on the cheek at the end of the thread since IT'S JUST THE CHEEK FRIENDS CAN DO THAT AHAHAHA ~~~~/o/
- Talking again after the whole bodyswitch with Idiot #1 and Idiot #2 and Crow showing Kazuha this place with a great view of the ocean. Mind you, she thought he was being a dork when he was talking about redoing their first meeting, but she was also touched that he remembered the spot where she'd first shown up.
- The whole first date - yes even the parts where Crow JUST DOESN'T THINK - but they both had fun in the long run, and that's all that matters! Kazuha got the chance to be the motivational speaker for once, and they even had a kyaaa dokidoki moment which left them... pretty uncomfortable for a little while, but they went back to normal soon enough. Kazuha managed to return Crow's last card to him at the end of it and thanked him for making her more important, and he told her she'd always been more important-- yes. I'm not going to summarize the whole thing because it's very long. :( Suffice to say Crow subtly-not-really suggested doing another one and Kazuha subtly-not-really agreed to it, and got him to admit he was glad he'd asked her!
- Crow finding Kazuha in the Tartarus about a week after their fight and explaining (sort of) why he'd been acting weird around her for the past few months. They made up aaaand after that, he told her that he liked her, but he was fine with them remaining the way they were. Kazuha's got some thinking to do on this one, but she was just as miserable as he was when they weren't talking to each other, so at least they're friends again.
☼ Worst Moment(s):
- Halloween :( Kazuha's never been too good with dead bodies (if her and Ran going "KYAAAAAAAAAAA ><" every time they find one is any indication), but dead bodies being bodies of some people she KNEW made her even more upset-- Orihime especially. She really did her best to stay composed and carry on an investigation since she's had enough experience with it (sup Heiji), but if Crow hadn't been there, she probably wouldn't have been able to keep going.
- Bodyswitch, because this is one out of two times that Kazuha's been genuinely angry at him! Honestly, she was more hurt than angry, since she doesn't like being tricked and especially not by one of her best friends, but she didn't speak to him for awhile. Crow left his Monster cards with her, however, and since they are his BABIES, that helped with calming her down. It even came with the kind of speech EVERY CHARACTER IN EVERY YU-GI-OH SERIES EVER tends to give at some given point. Only slightly less gay and with less sparkles.
- Valentines! Mind you, the first part of it was adorable with the chocolate and Kazuha getting better at Duel Monsters, but when she brought up the topic of his weird behavior, Crow snapped out of frustration, and Kazuha snapped back, and it escalated into a full-fledged fight that included a ton of insults, yelling, some really bad remarks, and Crow getting slapped aaaaand flipped onto his back. Second time Kazuha's been genuinely angry-- and first she's been genuinely furious! :( They... sort of calmed down after that and apologized, but Crow had a "OHHHHHHH MYYYYYYYYYYY EUREKAAAAAAAAAAA" moment after that, realized that he liked Kazuha, and-- freaked out. Kazuha was just so baffled and frustrated and upset that this might continue, so just... walked away and didn't see him for around a week after that, even when she went out and interacted with other people.
☼ Crow in general: Oh god why isn't this finished yet-- uh. Though originally she saw him as a very annoying thief and (subconsciously) as Heiji's (sort of) replacement, Kazuha started to like Crow for the differences that made him... well, Crow, and accepted that he was a very different person and it was okay to like him for that. She can understand his reasons for stealing, but she is never going to be able to fully support him on it. She's used to it being police/detectives vs. thieves, and getting to know a thief and see his side of the story's made her question her beliefs, since-- let's be honest, Kazuha's policy with any and all criminals is GO TO JAIL IF YOU DO BAD THINGS. She can't fully break herself out of that mindset and, as long as her dad's in the police and her childhood friend goes after criminals, she can't even begin to make the attempt. Accepting what he's doing and not biting his head off for doing it is about as good as Crow's going to get.
There's absolutely no doubt that Crow's her best friend on the island; they've been through too much not to be as close as they are, and - interestingly enough - while most people flirting with her gets blushes and kyaaaa and shy responses, Crow gets... tsundere. And blushes. And extreme fluster when he does it seriously. With just the typical handsome guy, the first response is her default, but her getting all "... Idiot ////" is an indication that she knows the person well enough to be sarcastic. That she and Crow usually get into a petty argument once per thread is proof of that; she's never been anyone else but herself around him. For all that they do quarrel, Kazuha cares a lot for him and tries to keep him out of trouble as much as she can. She's also doesn't truly believe he's an idiot-- reckless, yes, but his strategies with his cards and the way he observes things and gives advice gave her insight to the intelligent aspect of his personality. He just doesn't use it much ahahahaha-- he got her to take Duel Monsters seriously, though, and that's a huge accomplishment. In the meantime, he's helping her practice with aikido and, no matter what it is they do, they almost always end up having fun just being with each other.
Lastly... she does like him as more than a friend, but there are things Kazuha has to deal with first. Getting involved with a criminal (even if he technically only is by Security's standards) is the ultimate test for the lessons she grew up learning, so she has to tell herself it's okay. There's also her crush on Heiji back home, and the fact that she has to... admit to herself that she does like Crow in the same way he likes her. She was thankful that Crow doesn't do what Heiji does (much) with the EXTREME TSUNTSUN "MY FOLLOWER" and ditching her to go off on cases or whatever it is he does, but Kazuha's still loyal to Heiji-- if nothing else, at the very least in the "I've known this guy almost my whole life, someone's got to keep him out of trouble" way. Any sort of romantic relationship with Crow pretty much depends on how well she can sift through all of this, and it's definitely going to take some time on her end.
TL;DR: Best friend with a side of dokidoki but mostly "YOU RECKLESS CARD-OBSESSED MORON" who Kazuha will risk her life for if necessary.
Those sleds are going to myste(a)riously catch on fire one day, though.
HAHAHA I called it. Emiri and Minato, if I end up doing this for them, may be the only one that ends up longer FML.
