Makayla and I sat there in silence for a few moments, me stroking her hair and her just leaning against me. I looked up when I heard a knock on the wall. Angel was standing in the threshold, poking his head in

"Hey." I said as I walked into the room. "You two seem friendly. I'm guessing it's peaceful, no visions or anyone in peril?" Okay, so I was looking for something to do. I was starting to get bored.
"I guess a man can hope for some action, can't he?" I said, then realized how really dirty that sounded. "I meant the saving kind of action, not, you know, okay! This is now officially awkward."
Yes, way to go Angel, just make a fool of yourself in front of Makayla and Tara like that. I guess it's good that Willow's not here to laugh at me.
"W--We are talking about the vision I had...I--I didn't mean to disturb you." I said thinking that being here was a disturbance. "I..If you want me to go I will." I stand ready to go if need be.
I don't know why I was so nervous, he seemed nice enough and Tara seemed to trust him, but I just thought that he would be mad at me for not getting there sooner or something.
I smiled at Angel, knowing he meant well, knowing he always meant well...well, except when he was all soul-less and stuff.
"It's alright, Makayla," I said soothingly, smiling at her. I didn't make her sit back down, but I stood up with her, keeping my hand on her lower back. "You don't need to go anywhere...Right, Angel?" I said, turning my eyes up to him. It wasn't really a question, because I knew very well Angel wouldn't throw Makayla out for any reason...However, I needed Makayla to hear that, from Angel himself.
I waited for Angel to say something, but honestly I felt out of place and that they didn't really want me here. "You know what...I have my apartment. I can just go back there...really, you don't have to worry about me." I said turning to leave.
I felt someone grab my arm stopping me from leaving, I thought it was Tara, but it was too firm of a grasp, and yet something about it seemed calming. I stopped a moment taking a deep breath. "Really it's ok." I whispered.
