I was back in South Africa, running an op with Sam and the rest of the crew. We were all prepped on what was supposed to happen and what we were supposed to find, imagine our surprise when we broke into the house and found children tied in the basement, all already abused and some starving to death. We moved them out as quickly as possible, trying ( Read more... )

I sensed his pain, something about this new ability that I didn't enjoy at all, but it did help in helping innocents. "Don't be sorry" I said softly as my hand moved over his. "Is there something you need to talk about?" I added setting the crystal down from my fruitless efforts.

"I need a break from this and you look like you need to talk so why don't we go and get some coffee in the kitchen." It wasn't so much a question as I needed coffee and he needed to talk.

I looked at her, was she a mindreader? "No, nothing to talk about." I said, I looked down at her hand, did she just do that? Maybe I wasn't imagining things.

"Coffee does sound good though," I said as I followed her down the stairs and once we had coffee I took a seat at the table and drank some of the coffee.

"So no luck scrying for her?" I asked. There had to be something we could do.

"You do know that changing the subject isn't going to ever work with me right?" I asked as I led him to the kitchen making coffee. It is still weird that I can be so open with someone. The last man I was this open with was a demon and he tried to kill me and my sisters...repeatedly.

"So, that was some dream you were having up there..want to talk about it?" I finally ask as I sat down handing him a cup of coffee.

I looked at her slightly shocked. I knew she was a witch and had powers, but damn. "So you are a mind reader?" I asked, I didn't want to sound rude.

"Because I can fly us out to Vegas right now and we can kick some ass and score lots of money." I said teasingly. She gave me another look. Damn, who am I kidding, she's right, no use trying.

"Well, can't blame a guy for trying." I said, admitting defeat.

"It's a really long and complex story..." I said, trying to push the flood of memoirs that came, all the wonderful moments Sam and I had. The wedding, the honeymoon, the guys playing jokes on us and our handles, Mr. John Smith and Mrs. Jane Smith.

"I lost someone I cared a lot about..." I said, drinking more coffee. "But then again, it happens to everyone." I watched her die...and was helpless to help her, and I refuse to ever feel that pain again.

"yeah, subtly was never my strong point" I said with a smile.

"Angel..." I said and didn't elaborate, I had respect for him, but it didn't mean I had to like him, not like I could complete with Mr. Vampire with a Soul... Was I jealous? Yeah, a little bit.

"Well let's start with going downstairs and waiting for everyone else to wake-up and get ready from there" I said with a smile.

I could sense the jealousy flowing through him, the one thing he didn't need to be jealous of was Angel...though he was good looking, but I prefer men who can breath honestly. "There is no need for jealousy." I finally tell him, my empathic abilities getting in the way again.

"you think we can behave if we relax in my room?" I asked. I didn't want to sit on the couch and do the uncomfortable silence thing, instead i would rather relax with him somewhere a tad more private.

It caught me off gaurd when she said the thing about jealousy, I forgot about her powers.

I need to be careful, don't need to be thinking things I shouldn't be.

"So there's no way to turn it off?" I asked, I mean I liked her power, it could just make our relationship a bit different.

"I promise to be a good little boy and keep my hands to myself..." I said with a mock salute. "well, for the most part" I said teasingly. There was nothing wrong with giving her a quick massage to ease her stress level.

I smiled and took his hand leading him to my room quietly as to not wake anyone and shut the door. "So..." I looked up to him "What do you think we should do now?" I was trying coy, never was good at that.

"Ok that was bad even for me." I whispered as I plopped down on the bed.
