I think for me, painting is a way to forget life. It's the equivalent of a cry in the night or a strangled laugh.

Painting really does take you somewhere.
It helps give order to my life;
Most of the time I have all these thoughts bouncing around in my head
but with a paint brush in my hand, the world just kinda gets quiet.
