I'm actually not absolutely certain that my story is life-changing or earth-shattering, but I know that the words are collecting at the tips of my fingers and if I don't shake them out over the keyboard they could go backwards and form word clots

That must be so hard; I know. But stay strong--if the connection between you two really is timeless and as deep as it sounds, five years won't do too much.

When my best friend went out of state to go to college for four years across the country I didn't know if our friendship would last or die out, but we actually became much closer than ever before, while I the frienship I had with another friend that went to school two hours from me died out. Distance can be a major burden, but it does not make things impossible. Have faith! <3
