gawd, i'm so damn jealous! I used to draw too a long while back, and i quite because it seemed like i wasn't getting any better. Even with an extra freakin' yr. in art class! I always wanted 2 perfect my realism drawings, but it seems i never could. :(

btw, when's your comic strip commin' out? I'll look for it next Sunday in the paper. ;)

ps
if you're wonderin' who the heck i am, i got your link 4rm cynth's journal. :)

Well hi there Shannon. We finally meet. The circle is now complete(sorry had to say that:) Cyn had talked about you. Don't worry all good things....well actually one bad thing...teehee just joking ;D

I know exactly what you mean about your art not getting any better. I use to say that to myself too. But i just kept on drawing. I didn't care what people said about it. Hell! I didn't even care what I said about my own stuff. My real passion is cartoons, not this life drawing stuff. I mean i can draw it, Ive done it, but to me a cartoon can say so much. The way I see art is that there is no perfect way of doing it. To the artist his own work will never be perfect. Instead of saying "it has to be perfect", say "it has to be done". So i think you should grad yourself a pencil and start drawing again.

What is art?
Well...why does does a apple tree have apples?

Yes, you're right. I don't think i've ever been satisfied with any drawing i've ever done. I guess i just got kinda intimidated by all the great artists in my class. They were so much better than me and i thought i could never make it up 2 their level. The sad part was, like you said about perfection, not even our BEST artists in the class thought they drew well! Damn, what i wouldn't have given to be in their position. My first art teacher said i was one of her best, but i just thought it was cause of lack of talent in her other classes, lol. Anywho, thanx 4 the inspiration. :) I think i just might draw a lil' somethin'... and try and stop bein' so critical of my work.
