Dear X-MEN: FIRST CLASS;

Dear X-MEN: FIRST CLASS,

let me start off by saying how incredibly sorry I am that it took me this fucking long to finally watch you. I don't know what I was thinking. Perhaps, after the fiasco that was X3, I was afraid I'd be disappointed. I wasn't, not even close.

Aaaaaawwww, this post is so full of win ;)

Raven, love, you had me at "you're not afraid of me?", all on your side.
- Definitely one of the better characters in the movie. I've come to love movie!Mystique more than her comic counterpart, who was an evil bitch, a lousy mother and even ocasionally a psycho lesbian. First Class Raven goes through so much in this movie that you just feel for her instantly.

Emma Frost? X-Men: First Class, did you just, seriously, introduce me to THE EMMA FROST I HAD IN MY UNVEILED SERIES? DID YOU, SERIOUSLY? OHMIGOD, *swoon*
- Again, I like movie!Emma more than comic!Emma. I suppose I loved the Shaw/Emma dynamic in this movie in a way that I never loved their one dimensional badass 80s comic versions, or Emma's 00's manstealing X-men time. Also January Jones makes one hott Emma Frost.

Erik, the bar scene ["Let's just say I'm a Frankenstein's monster"], the coldness in your eyes, the style and the grace, it's like you're a fallen angel all over again and I'm yours.- Magneto... ahh, I knew there was a ( ... )

When I was many years younger, before I'd even seen any of the X-Men movies (only one had been released) or read the comics, my friend gave me a prompt. She told me the names of a few characters, told me what they can do and what they're like and she asked me to write a fic, which I suppose was my first fan fic ever. It never got published, though I did get a few chapters written. What's funny is that even though I'd never seen the first movie, I wrote about Mystique being at Charles' side. She'd been evil, for a little while and then come back to him. Now I see it totally could have been.
- Ok, what did I do and why don't I remember this? I demand you post this right away for my eyes only!

Thank you, dear X-Men: First Class, for righting (almost) everything that was wrong in X3, thank you for making the important characters the actual eye candy (Yes, though I love Foster, I still have issues with X3's take on Angel mainly because his whole character was pointless and offered nothing to the plot.) and making those characters unique ( ... )

Oh, these comments of yours probably deserve a better reply but right now, I'm in a hurry. The reason you've never seen the fic is a) because it was K that asked for it, many years before you and I were even friends and b) because I no longer have it, it disappeared with Mom's computer a long time ago. ANYWAY. I SHALL RETURN WITH A BETTER COMMENT. Hopefully.

Of course it's full of win - "I'm awesome" - *headdesk*

ANYWAY.

I know, exactly! Okay, never really read the comics the way you have so I wouldn't know, but even though I've always liked movie!Mystique, this movie just made her so much better...

Again, I like movie!Emma more than comic!Emma. I suppose I loved the Shaw/Emma dynamic in this movie in a way that I never loved their one dimensional badass 80s comic versions, or Emma's 00's manstealing X-men time. Also January Jones makes one hott Emma Frost.
Word! Shaw/Emma was just hot in this freaky, twisted way ["Go fetch me some"] and yeah, also, I thought January was pretty hot. She played the part so nicely!

(which is why we have Mystique to live our fantasies for us)
This!

You have to love this ( ... )
