Shallow Sewing Post

While preparing for Dances of Vice, I came to the appalling realization of just how completely out of control my sewing stash has become. It's seriously frightening. I should not be able to just pull everything I need for a silk Robe de Polanaise out of the closet, people - especially not when you can't even tell I've removed any fabric once I'm ( Read more... )

Holy screenprint! It looks so neat @m@
I think the cardigan does work... definitely a JetJ vibe, which is a good thing. To me, the jsk looks good without anything extra, but I think we have a similar style ^3^

Thanks! Screenprinting on velvet is terrible, most of them are at least a little bit blurry :(
But nobody is (usually) getting close enough to notice, at least.

I wish! I'll be here in Toronto instead, alas. Have fun, it's a great event.

I think the cardigan looks a bit more matching in person, because the gold threads don't show up very much in photos. The capelet is a good idea - I'll have to see how much fabric I have left over!

I love that jumperskirt! *drooling* I wouldn't add anything. I think it looks very elegant this way. That's some awesome screenprinting. I was about to ask where you bought it, before I realised you made it yourself.

The cardigan's cute, although the style dresses down the jumperskirt. (BTW, where did you get it? I've been lusting after the IW ones, but I don't want to spend $100+ on a cardigan). I think it can work either way, depending on how much you want to dress up when you wear it. You could also add a fancy brooch if you want a little more glitz.

I found the cardigan at a local charity shop, actually, which is why I snapped it up. My closet is this weird mish-mash of handmade stuff, thrift store finds and a few really expensive items - everything costs me either nothing or waaaaay too much!

Thanks for the suggestions! I do have a couple of gold brooches that could work.

I love it just the way it is!

I also love the cardigan but that may be because I love *all* cardigans.
