Wouldn't it be fun to take time and understand why so many of us hold onto all this junk in the basement or attic??
I'm desperately looking for a promotional carpet cleaning poster from 1980 I've tucked away somewhere in my basement. ONE YEAR AGO, this month, my retired next door neighbor asked me to scan this silly poster and repair the custom logo scratches in photoshop. Arrrgh! I can't find it anywhere, and I'm so angry at myself for not scanning and returning it straight away. What an idiot!
He mentioned it a couple times in 2005, but I always had some excuse why I wasn't finished yet. Poor man. Luckily for him, I don't charge by the hour.... yet.
I'm finding all sorts of other cool things down there. Some framed pictures long forgotten, a few college papers needing filing, a miniature gardening basket with yellow trowels and mister, and a nifty keychain of the 25 cent goldfish stamp. Yay for ebay!
Today I tried not so hard to look hip in the rain and rode my bike to the campus library. I recharged my ancient copy card with the super friendly library receptionist, he wasn't bad, and then trekked up to the third floor music stacks for the 48 pages of Rachmaninoff's Concerto #2. An hour later, I made it home with another new year's challenge. There's no hope for me to perform this beauty at the January recital, but it's gorgeous! See the '40s movie Brief Encounter over and over and you'll know just how gorgeous. *melt*
Instead of pounding Brody and Rachi into the wee hours of tomorrow, tonight I'm reviewing an instructional video of the official rules of British croquet.
