Body and Appearance
1. Describe the character's height and build. Is she heavyset, thin, short, rangy? She's short and thin-- basically she looks like she got about 85% of the way through growing up and then just stopped. She's not completely curveless, but she's got the body of someone who barely eats and hardly ever stops moving. That being said, she doesn't look unhealthy; she looks toned, as a swimmer might. She's spent most of her past few decades fighting-- of course she's not going to have much on her. Best visual of her is this piece of art. (Depressing fact: I can't find skinny-looking girls on GIS because it's all thinspiration photos.)
2. How old is she? Scorched!Asellus is in her seventies or eighties-- she was 17 when the carriage hit her, slept for 12 years, spent three or four years on the run from Orlouge, making her 33 or so when she took over rulership of Facinaturu. Gina at this time was in her early twenties at the MOST, and Asellus is taken after the half-mystic ending, wherein Gina is in her seventies or so, so that puts Asellus at 83...ish. Somewhere in there.
3. Describe her posture. Does she carry herself well or does she slouch? She tends to carry herself pretty well, because the corsets she wears don't allow for anything else and she kind of fell into the pattern. Her shoulders are usually squared, and she seems very confident when you read her body language, because when it comes to physical presence, she is. She's strong and she knows it. When she's feeling vulnerable or thoughtful, she might curl in on herself a little-- rest her head on her knees, or her chin on one knee. And if she's comfortable she leans against things and people.
4. How is her health? Is she fit or out of shape? Any illnesses or conditions? Any physical disabilities? Very fit, very healthy, with perhaps less energy than she pretends to have. She bleeds purple. She probably won't die from anything that doesn't completely bleed her out or stab her through the heart. Even a stomach wound or an intestinal wound won't kill her, since her blood is immune to the septic diseases that make those wounds most dangerous, and Mystic healing factors are a little faster than humans.
5. How does she move? Is she clumsy, graceful, tense, fluid? When she has a purpose, she's very graceful, able to turn up on her toes and twist herself to avoid people at high speeds. When she's surprised or not really sure what she's doing, though, she gets a little clumsy in her preoccupation on that. Pretty much it's all a matter of what she's doing-- on a battlefield, she's practically a dancer. Surrounded by people, maybe not so much.
6. How attractive is this character physically? How does she perceive herself in the mirror? She's more 'cute' than beautiful, but the Charm and the Mystic blood in her often has people seeing her the other way around. She's kind of trapped in the awkward stage where a teenager is just beginning to look like they will as an adult. She's not one to sit and look at herself in the mirror too often, though she's got some vanities.
7. Describe her complexion. Dark, light, clear, scarred? Her skin is pale and clear, smooth. Her body has various scars on it, though-- notably her left shoulder, where Orlouge transfused his blood into her, and the area just below her sternum, where Ciato stabbed her. Because he's the anti-bro.
8. Describe her hair: color, texture, style. Her hair is short-- hacked off at the nape of her neck and longer in the front, and a deep green. It's pretty fine, which means it tries to curl at random and is generally a pain in her ass, and she's usually overdue for a haircut.
9. What color are her eyes? Reddish-purple.
10. Does the character have any other noteworthy features? Aside from previously mentioned scars, not really.
11. What are her chief tension centers? Her back. Rub her back and you'll have made a friend for life. Also her neck, to a much lesser extent.
12. What is the character's wardrobe like? Casual, dressy, utilitarian? Bright colors, pastels, neutrals? Is it varied, or does she have six of the same suit? She loves bright colors-- rich jewel tones like pink and turquoise, as well as deep blood-red and crisp white. In Scorched, she can't afford a lot of them, so she's got battered secondhand stuff she bought-- a few skirts in muted tones to avoid drawing too much attention, blouses, over-shirt under-bust corsets, ankle boots. When she's working in the ruins, it's boys' shorts and workmens' undershirts. Who's going to see her while she's in there, anyway? In the arena, it's bright colors again, mostly pinks, and form-fitting. Best to get the crowd's attention, after all.
13. Do her clothes fit well? Does she seem comfortable in them? Yes and yes. She'd seem comfortable in most anything that isn't too formal or ostentatious, though.
14. Does she dress the same on the job as she does in her free time? If not, what are the differences? See above.
15. You knew it was coming: Boxers, briefs or commando? Commando! And she doesn't make a lot of effort to cover herself up when she's out and about. Probably someone should make her put on a sweater.
Mental and Emotional
1. How intelligent is this character? Is she book-smart or street-smart? She's got a good solid head on her shoulders, but sometimes she makes some pretty stupid choices. This is compounded with her stubborn nature. Someone really should take care of her or she'll end up destroying us all.
2. Does she think on her feet, or does she need time to deliberate? She thinks on her feet. Whether or not that ends well, however... :/a
3. Describe the character's thought process. Is she more logical, or more intuitive? Idealistic or practical? She's an idealist who tries to stay logical, but she's likely to twist her logic to follow her intuition. Basically, she's a shonen heroine. If she can help someone, nothing-- not even her better knowledge-- is going to stop her. As you can imagine, she's probably the worst possible person to have to take care of.
4. What kind of education has the character had? Some high school. Intensive etiquette and history courses. Battlefield training.
5. What are her areas of expertise? What, if anything, is she interested in learning more about? Diplomacy and ruling countries that don't want a ruler. She likes to hear any stories she can, though.
6. Is she an introvert or an extrovert? Extrovert. Much as she pretends she doesn't need other people around, she gets listless and bored and sad if she's alone too long.
7. Describe the character's temperament. Is she even-tempered or does she have mood swings? Cheerful or melancholy? Laid-back or driven? Cheerful, driven, but prone to moodswings and intense pessimism. She doesn't really believe anyone at their word. If they're nice to her, though, she'll swing towards trusting, especially if they're good at twisting things to sound right. She's remarkably easy to manipulate if you can justify yourself.
8. How does she respond to new people or situations? Is she suspicious, relaxed, timid, enthusiastic? Relaxed, and a little mistrustful, but she'll play along. She likes to keep things light, though.
9. Is she more likely to act, or to react? React.
10. Which is her default: fight or flight? Charm. Then fight.
11. Describe the character's sense of humor. Does she appreciate jokes? Puns? Gallows humor? Bathroom humor? Pranks? Yes. She's a derp. She likes people with senses of humor that border on risque a lot, but that's partially because it'd scandalize Ildon back home. She's also got a silly side and she likes to make people smile, so.
12. Does the character have any diagnosable mental disorders? If yes, how does she deal with them? Not really.
13. What moments in this character's life have defined her as a person? See her Entire History in her app. She's got a lot of hangups.
14. What does she fear? Abandonment and horses. Not necessarily in that order.
15. What are her hopes or aspirations? She'd love to be normal. Barring that-- and everything about her bars that--, she just wants to have a peaceful life while she rules over Facinaturu, to be left mostly alone to do her own thing with the people she loves.
16. What is something she doesn't want anyone to find out about her? Her inhumanity, in Scorched. And some of the things she's done in the past to stabilize her rule-- because when you are already on shaky ground, you can't let rebels live, and an honorable ruler is one that's willing to dirty her own hands and oh god if she weren't human she'd be so much less guilty.
Relationships
1. Describe this character's relationship with her parents. Nonexistant. Her parents died when she was a few years old in a car accident. She vaguely remembers them-- remembers things like going to the seashore with them, and her mother's voice, but not anything concrete.
2. Does the character have any siblings? What is/was their relationship like? None.
3. Are there other blood relatives to whom she is close? Are there ones she can't stand? She was raised by her aunt, to whom she wasn't very close. She was always reminded that she was there on her auntie's sufferance, and she knew she was a reminder of her father, who had been her aunt's little brother. It was a workable situation, but Auntie was very strict and so Asellus was very afraid of everything as a teen, and was basically a good girl. You know, until she got hit by a carriage and died...
4. Are there other, unrelated people whom she considers part of her family? What are her relationships with them?
