Heroism

I have been letting my mind wander whilst viewing YouTube music videos (mostly classical and Vocaloid videos - sometimes both) and, as it is wont to do in such situations, I've gotten a theme stuck in my head. Not a musical one, but a literary or real life one ( Read more... )

Dude, why would you post a link to somebody committing such an extreme and hateful act of barbarism upon Pachebel's Canon in D? I love that piece. I know everybody loves it(Except for Rob Paravonian), but I am one of those people. Clearly, it would seem, that these people join Rob P. in his loathing of the piece. Canon, while a beautiful piece of music, is cliched as hell. I liked this interpretation of it mostly for the fact that it was arranged in D-minor. The vocaloids voices, while they take some getting used to, can synthesize some awesome music. While they tend to do better with actual WORDS, they don't sound bad to me. :-P

And this wasn't really referencing the other day... just something that got caught in the gears of my mind last night.

My mom is one of my heroes. She didn't put out any fires or save any kittens, but she put up with a man who treated her like shit and taught me not to put up with it like she did.

It wasn't until I graduated HS that I realised that she was teaching me to be the kind of person she wanted to be. She was stopping the cycle of being with a man who treats you like crap because you felt obligated that started with my gramma.

Everyday heroes.
