"His Dark Materials" is being made into a movie. A central idea in the books is that humans on another world have daemons - parts of themselves (a conscience / soul, kind of) that exist outside of their bodies. arg, how's you get that to show up? I've tried embedding media, just copying the code they gave me....ugh.

yeah, it didn't work at first... or at second. I had to play with it. Mmm... copying the code from the email was screwy - the http:// string was all messed up. So, I went back and copied it again from the box on the website, and it seemed to work. I made sure all the brackets were closed? I think...

haha. sorry if this is unhelpful.

AND! How could you not finish it? OMG. Go to the library and take out the amber spyglass! I think the Subtle Knife even ends in a cliffhanger (kind of), which is something I couldn't stand (unless I didn't like the story).

Okay, I think it's fixed now. LJ really butchers it...

Well, I was waiting for the 3rd one to come out to finish the trilogy and....yeah, I dunno what happened. :X I actually put the book on my Christmast list for this past Christmas though! I just didn't get it. :(

I'll be sure to get it and read it. :) Gotta re-read the first two though, I remember some things about the first one, but practically nothing from the second.
