State of the television

I have caught up on Spooks. And I am now starting S4 of The Wire, OMG, what in God's name will I do with myself when I have exhausted both of these wonderful shows? There's another season of Spooks coming up, though, yes? Soon? Anyway, The Wire 4.01, which is paused right now because I just screamed with joy ( spoilers, The Wire 4.01, as if it wasn't obvious )

I feel the same way about S8. Sarah's accent kept distracting me, and it didn't help her that her character development was terrible anyway.

There were a few episodes that I enjoyed a lot, but the S8 didn't fascinate me.

Ros was a joy to watch as always. I love her scenes with Lucas, they were so good together, and it was annoying that so many minutes were wasted on Lucas/Sarah.

I feel the same way about Ruth and Harry. Their interaction made S8 a lot more interesting. I really like Harry, he's got a special place in my heart, and I felt for them.

S9 will air in October, I guess, hopefully that season will be more like S7. That was one fantastic IMHO.

AGREED! Aside from the terrible accent, Sarah was just not interesting and the relationship with Lucas never felt authentic...it is indeed annoying that so much screen time was wasted on that. I loved the bits of humor involving Ros and Lucas in the last couple of episodes -- it's like someone decided all of the sudden that it would be OK to let them banter a bit and it was wonderful (like Ros "small talking" Lucas about perfumes, which I found hilarious because I'm into perfumery right now and knew about civets).

I found a vid song for a Ros vid...*sniffle* Looooove her and the song is so perfect and damn, those DVD sets are indeed expensive. Maybe at some point.

LOLOLOLOL SARAH!!!! Probably the worst decision in Spooks history was having her as a character. I'm still half expecting Ros to not be dead when S9 premieres (Sophia Myles, yo!) because that is NOT how I expected Ros to go. She needed something as glorious as Adam. And sigh, I miss Jo. :/

I concur. I didn't love Christine way back when, but she was a goddess by comparison.

Ros, come back, you've done it before!!!! :-( See, but I did find her exit rather glorious, sticking by poor Brutus Villiers non-evil Home Secretary Lawrence (plz to be getting Robert Glenister back?).

Good times all around, though. I was prepared to be less interested after the original cast rotated out, but nope, not at all!

Thanks for dropping by my blog, as well as the heads up about Cracks coming out on September 10th. I'll definitely be keeping my eyes peeled, and may even have to make a special trip to Philly or NY to see it (as it's guaranteed not to play here in Delaware).
