The mood of this mix is mainly slowish and muted, in a creepy kind of way. After all, the Doctor's just had the ground pulled out from underneath him in Waters of Mars and the Master ... well, the issues there are obvious. As RTD says, both are racing to save themselves from death and their fates, once again, are intertwined. Creepy and conflicted ... it's pretty much a given.

A double heartbeat out of sync and so so weak, like the fluttering wings of a dying bird. One final,
shuddering inhalation and you're clutching his hand so tight you're drawing blood. And suddenly, in a
flare of white, your synapses spark and there is the memory of this scene inverted, of you kneeling over him,
of his eyes closing, of the sheer force of your panic tearing open a black hole inside your chest. You freeze the
memory and replay it, feeding it back to him through an endless telepathic loop and his eyes widen with
new and remembered pain and maybe also the beginnings of a cold fear, unfurling in the space
between his right heart and his left.
Your mouth curves upward and you breathe out, whispering I win into empty space, before your hearts
give one last, painful double-thump and you are lost, melting into the gold light.
