I'm working backwards, I'm afraid, but I just wanted to make sure you didn't skip over Chapter 2, which I posted just hours before the three-part chapter 3. It would have been easy to miss, with all the other pieces coming so close together. It's a little Kirsten/Ryan scene...

I think it will ultimately help Kirsten's and Ryan's relationship. That she loves him isn't a question; that she shows him that love and risks real closeness with him still is. This is what has bothered me for nearly three years -- the distance that she maintains and the absence of any revelation of her feelings to him. When she talk about how she feels, it's always to someone else instead of Ryan. Drives me crazy! She needs a push...

Gosh, these chapters are layered with so much. I’m not sure who to root for here - Kirsten who can’t be open with her feelings and as a result I’m sure Mrs H doesn’t get how much she loves Ryan, or Mrs H who is threatened by Kirsten and that she got what she always wanted. And Ryan stuck in the middle and loving them both. I hope Mrs H can teach Kirsten something about how to reach out to Ryan but I also want the Harts to see what a great job (most of the time) the Cohens have done for Ryan. These chapters are so rich in the issues that they raise. I just loved Seth’s interruption and how he completely ignored Sandy’s warning comments, telling the Harts far more than he should have and how that added to Mrs H’s worries. I’m wondering now how Kirsten will view this open display of affection that Mrs H gives Ryan and his reaction to it (whatever that may be). Oooh, I can’t wait!!
