I really love Ryan with Megan and Sam.

And my favorite line:
"His eyes are flecked with wonder, and say far more than his words."

I love Ryan with Megan and Sam, too. It's nice to see him where he's not loved only second (or third?) best...

You DO realize that I'm going to have to break my rule and read this- maybe even comment out of order. I already started on the first paragraph.

Oh, btw, Toshi, I see you!

Cool. Toshi says 'hi' back. Now I've got to go do a little pre-test we had for homework. So far, I'm really liking this seminar. Cool redux.

Hey, Tosh! You'd better be behaving! You don't want to be left behind next time...

Happy pre-test. At least no dogs can eat your homework. You've got wi-fi AND you like the seminar. You're two-for-two, Ace!

And I'm parceling out your sentences sparingly. I'm trying to read like Ryan speaks, basically. That way, I get to savor it.

Good luck and enjoy!

My heart sang when I saw the update. Yet...it feels heavy b/c I still feel for Kirsten and don't want her role in Ryan's life, such as it is, to be diminished. I really don't understand why I am so biased against Megan when I loved her greatly in Seventeen. I think I have to go reread that to recover some of those good vibes.

Again, I love the varied POVs you give us, and the sweet, vulnerable side to Ryan we see when he interacts with the Harts.

'A while' you say? *sighs*

I want to love Kirsten, and in many ways I do. At least, I love who I think she should have been. Unfortunately the writers never took her (or us) there. She held back so much it hurt for me to watch.

A few examples of things that made me cringe, of which there were far too many for my comfort: In the hospital, she sits far away from his bed, against the wall, like he's got something dreadful she might catch. She takes Seth with her to AA, but says not one word to Ryan. She makes Seth breakfast in bed, but Ryan's left out and on his own. She doesn't even ask Ryan how he is after the earthquake, when he calls her instead of Sandy. She apologizes to his abusive father because Sandy's being protective of Ryan.

I wanted so badly to see her being protective -- to see that she cared -- but the writers kept leaving far too much distance between them. Maybe she needed a better wake-up call. (Maybe she'll get one -- or maybe not... we'll have to see, won't we?)

TPTB made Kirsten a non-factor in Ryan's life in S3, and after returning from Suriak, she was virtually invisible, as far as I'm concerned. So, you're about to shake her up some?

I love Meg and Sam. I love the way they make Ryan feel but he is not a child any more. They left him when he was a child. They left him like everyone else. I realize that Sam had to fulfill his dream and Ryan understands and is forgiving. Ryan is always forgiving. I'm glad Ryan has them back. He needs them. He feels accepted and loved by them in a way he has never felt with the Cohens. Sandy is glad the Hart's are back in Ryan's life because he knows Ryan has been through too much and needs all the love and support he can get. I understand why Kirsten feel threatened, she should. This is a great update, so much love and conflict. Thank you for continuing with this story.
