That was awesome, but I wanted him to fall and go splat (Caleb that is, not Ryan!!)

Hee.

(Although I have to say that were it up to me, they would never have killed the guy off.)

Unfortunately, I now only have a minute. Pesky husband. The banter between the two characters at the beginning of this part was genius. I love how you played them off of one another. Also, I found it very believable that Ryan would have earned a smidgen of respect from Caleb, but not the other way around.
About your being like her son.
Perfect ending.

Thank you! I wish we'd gotten more Ryan/Caleb on the show. Seeing Caleb again during OCitagain reminds me how much I missed him.

I will second the 'awesome' and add amazing since you certainly had me as focused and riveted as Ryan had to be. The table setting with the vivid, almost seductive, untamed imagery and insights revealed through the verbal sparring and mental gymnastics all come at risks almost as great as overcoming a fear of heights and belittlement or a fear of failing and accepting the consequences.

The high stakes (bad pun), rapid-fire dynamic of the sort of game show "bonus" and "winner-takes-all" round doesn't allow for compromise, only direct responses and cultivates such a compelling sort of banter that Caleb might deny demonstrates respect simply by pure engagement, but both Ryan and Caleb are aware that Caleb Nichol doesn't waste his time on lost causes.

Now, because I owe YOU many comments and need to still back up while staying somewhat current with the current, I will be back- swear- on Ryan!

No! Don't swear on Ryan! (Swear on 'Mom' -- it's safer...)

Caleb doesn't waste his time. He also doesn't offer 'gifts' unless they're earned, and he offers Ryan a rather big one in the end (even if it's wrapped inside a snarl.)

Don't doubt me- I'm getting much better and making progress. I got sidetracked with the Citrus nominations list. I think my final submission was about seven or eight pages long with the formatting according to our beloved moderator/overseer. That took some doing ( ... )

I'd say you're giving Caleb credit where credit's due.

Hee. (And if Caleb were going to make a pass at a guy? I'm thinking it would be Sandy. I see how they look at each other in their scenes together... all that smoldering heat between them. ;) )

I'll add to all the "awesomes"! : )

Ryan is a much better person than I am- with my fear of edges, I would have just yelled at Caleb from the other side- no way would I have crossed than 2 foot span for Caleb (- not unless there was some really cool hand painted cashmere or quiviot yarn on the other side or, of course, Ryan) Fortunately, I have a very loud voice.

Thank you!

Ryan's a better person then I am, too. Caleb would just have to jump. (I might scoot out for a family member, one of my dogs, or as you say, for Ryan.)
