Yes, I can definitely see this happening. This is the guy that is Ryan's biological father.
Poor Barrett. And poor Julie (even though I still can't understand how she could have ever been stupid enough to fall for the guy, knowing what she did and considering the way he insinuated himself into the lives of everyone in Newport, nobody deserves to be treated that way)

This was a very well written, chilling read.
But you really can't leave it there. I mean...what will Ryan do, once he finds out?

Thanks for reading and commenting! Like you, I couldn't believe Julie would fall for Frank, and I never bought into the great reformation on the show. I'll always believe something like this would have happened. The guy's future prospects, with his violent criminal record, had to be pretty bleak, particularly after he screwed over The Bullitt on so many different levels!

(If I were Frank, I might worry more about Gordon than Ryan. Gordon knows a lot of shady characters, and has the money and means to get revenge.)

Watching it shatter was almost as satisfying as seeing the fear etched across the woman’s face. She’d damn well better be afraid. Frank Atwood deserved respect.

Come on, Julie-all those years of Cardiobar should be worth something. You can hurt Frank. : )

Hee! Maybe a swift knee to the groin, followed up by a high heel in the face? Go, Juju! ;)

Terrifying, yet I can see something like this happening...

Barrett blinked, looking for all the world like Ryan.
This is heartbreaking in so many ways...

The boy whispered, “Papa Gordon says you are.”
Part of me is almost glad that the kid doesn't seem to have had survival instinct beaten into him yet, and the other part is cringing, because kid, don't say that to Frank when he's in a bad mood...

(I, too, would love to see what Ryan will do when he finds out. OTOH, the ending is pretty damn perfect, so...)

Terrifying, yet I can see something like this happening... I know -- I can't imagine it not happening, given Frank's bleak prospects and his violent history.

I'm glad Barrett hasn't lived Ryan's early life, too. He's unprepared for Frank's true colors when they finally surface -- poor naive baby.

Glad you like the ending.

Many, many thanks.

I agree with others. This is very easy to see and believe. In "My Two Dads" you could see and feel Frank's raw anger at Sandy. There was always little doubt in my mind that if given the right circumstances he would show his true colors. Thanks for the read. I hope you change your mind about it being a one-shot. This story has so much potential.

I agree with you -- Frank would show his true colors eventually. Glad you feel this is believable, because I can't help thinking something like this would happen. The guy is a child abuser and a wife beater underneath all the smarm.

Thanks for reading!

You are not serious about the 'fin' in the end.
That must by a typo. I'm sure you wanted to write TBC. *nods*
Please?
I want to know what happens next and I want to read about Ryan's reaction if he finds out and and and.

Hee. Thanks, sweetie. Typo? Not! (Classic rule of creative writing: enter scenes late, and leave early) I often blow that rule, but not here... *evil grin*
