Lovely chapter reinforcing Ryan's connection to the Harts. You've shown us that they are the people that Ryan should really be with. They would put him first and that something that hasn't happened to him in a very long time. If ever!

Love the shoutout to the favourites.

Thanks so very much!

They would put him first and that something that hasn't happened to him in a very long time. If ever! Exactly...

It always bothered me that when Summer asked Seth what were some of Ryan's favorites, he couldn't name any. I like the thought that someone paid attention and remembers... ;)

You already know I can't like the last few lines since they are an echo of Sandy's lines from the first episode....but you show your true favoritism with this: She smiles slowly. “That small? You mean things like your favorite color being blue? That you do Mensa quizzes for fun? That you’re a Lance Armstrong fan? That you, for reasons known only to you and God, have a thing for the Longhorns? That your favorite pie flavor is peach? That you can sketch the layout of the Louvre from memory? That you’re not a fan of heights? That you secretly root for the Red Sox? You mean those kinds of things?”I can't find fault with you, since I know what a Megan fanatic you are, so this issue is mine. I love this fic...it just...makes me crazy ( ... )

I know this story drives you crazy, but I'm pleased that you read anyway!

I'd like to think Kirsten and Ryan had some opportunity to bond over all things architectural, but TPTB were not kind to Kirsten & Ryan.

It would have been so simple to give us a scene here and there that showed them sharing this obvious interest, but IMO the writers dropped the ball. It was all the more disappointing given the initial set-up they provided! Instead they gave us bupkis. :(

It drives me crazy in the best of ways.

This was only the beginning of TPTB letting us down by dropping story lines and adding others with little regard for their fans (or for anything resembling continuity)

Thank you for the wonderful update.
With every new chapter I feel more and more sorry for the Cohens. It seems like Ryan is drifting away from them.
The Harts know Ryan for a longer amount of time, but deep down I have a bad feeling, I would expect trouble in paradise soon.

Thank you for reading and reviewing! I appreciate your concern for the Cohens -- you're certainly not alone.

As for me? I just want Ryan to be loved and appreciated by good people, be they Harts and/or Cohens.

Cheers!

oh, I love this story. Great update, especially Sam and Ryan exploring the house and examining all the pluses and minuses. Love that Sam asked for vanilla for Ryan, and that Megan remembered some little things too - and realized her own Cohen-esque mistake in not asking Ryan his favorite flavor. I hope in the end, Ryan gets the best of all worlds... a reconnection with the Harts and a deeper relationship with the Cohens. But I am sure I will enjoy the story whatever direction you take it in. :)

It took longer than I expected for me to get to this story (and actually I only could now because a thunderstorm rained out our Labor Day plans.) But it was worth the wait--even the loss of our cook out!

I'm one of the people who love the Harts. It's comforting to imagine that Ryan would have found people who supported him and loved him as a child, giving him a refuge, safety and a sense of self. It's wonderful too that that would care enough to seek him out as a young adult and renew those bonds. I adore Ryan's shy surprise every time Sam and Megan reveal that they remember something about him, and that they've cherished those memories all these years.

What I hope, though, is that back in the Cohen household, Sandy and especially Kirsten are doing some major soul-searching about their treatment of Ryan. I'd so like for this story to end--but not soon, please!--with him having two families who both deserve him, because as amazing as the Harts are--well, there's still the Cohens + 1, and I love them too. (Or at least the version ( ... )
