I have a quick question for you. I have been at this current job for about 2 years and am one of the executives in the company. I've called someone out on that before. All that happens is they start kissing your ass and not mention the fag word again. But you know it's all fake.

First, I would speak to the person on a personal level. Just say, "Hey man, you may or may not know, but I'm gay. And, I understand you're not openly making fun of me... but, it kind of hurts to hear you say those sorts of things. If you could, I'd really appreciate it for you to tone that down."
If that doesn't fly, then you need to go above his head and talk to someone in management.
If nothing is done then, then I would take the legal route.
You never know, you might be able to squash this with respect alone.
