Up at 5:45 Am and why.......?
I haven't been on line in two days, I know one of you
has noticed (sorry, MJ).
Thursday's reason is behind a cut due to the lengthy
and Whiny nature of the post ;p
Thursday night I was just too bloody tired. I was alone in Drive-up half the day. Thankfully Jenn felt better around noon and so she came in and we both stayed until 5. We needed too. I spent half my day turning people away because the local business apparently didn't adjust their payroll to account for the holiday and so they came with checks dated for Friday.
Now banking regulations allow banks to cash post-dated checks as long as the owner of the account hasn't called and said not to, but..... we have an a policy of NOT cashing a post-dated check UNLESS they call us and tell us it's fine.
We had people go back to their employer and have the call us to give us the go ahead...... NOT ONE BLOODY PHONE CALL!!!! We can't call most of them because the call has to come from someone who is a signer on the checking accounts, so we have to have someone get in touch with that person and they have to call us.... bloody frustrating.
So we were left with no other alternative than to tell everyone to come back between 4 and 5, since we would then be on the next business day (Monday actually, since we were closed for the Holiday and all). So, Jenn and I braced ourselves for an onslaught that actually didn't really occur.
Anyway, that was my reason for Thursday ;p
Last night was a bit more close to home. Simply put, my brother called around 1 in the afternoon Friday and said he and his girlfriend, along with their 3 children would be coming up Saturday and staying overnight. So, I was running my ass off trying to get the house ready and have some extra food in the fridge ;p so, figure I am probably not going to be on line tonight either. Maybe after they have left for the hotel to sleep.
I am soooo beat.
