blu ray?

OK, I have my fair share of BR movies, but only a portion of them actually look noticeably better in BR, really. Dark City, for example, sort of does not. 300 does - but you know, it also comes with the movie "300", so it's sort of a wash. I think Night Watch/Day Watch look good - but you miss out on the nifty creative subtitles. I want to beef

I think everything looks better in HD-DVD.

I think if you're buying blu-ray movies like Dark City that were not shot in HD, they're not gonna look blu-rayish. I bought Bladerunner as my first collection and, while maybe looking a little cleaner, it's not by much. It already does upscaling, so I think it may be a waste of money to buy most old movies in blu-ray format.
