The resolution is an admirable achievement, as it deals swiftly with the tensions established in the first two stanzas. While it usually seems to be easier to see someone awash in one's own values, the final stanza secures a place for your subject in her own right, which is a surprising turn, considering the suggested heroics that are first offered to the reader.
I happened to be reading some work that, while written by some of my favourite poets, sometimes borders on infantilizing women when trying to praise them. It's of course a fine line to walk, but I wanted to write something that started similarly yet took a different route.
