So, it looks like they are not asking me to dj at dragoncon this year. After last year i am really surprised. But i guess i shouldnt be i have seen this happen before with other djs. im just a little bummed. Maybe i can swing burningman this year instead.

Don't stress it grrlie! From what I've heard, they are being very reluctant as far as bringing that many people back for consecutive years so reapply next year :)

It's my impression that D*Con is trying to get different performers every year, including DJs. What they don't understand is that people will come back to hear their favorite DJs again and again. You and I both know how insulting it feels not to get asked back, especially if it has nothing to do with anyone being dissatisfied with a prior performance. I'm not sure the organizers realize how much negativity that creates toward them.

Once I'd been to my first Burning Man I knew I could never go back to D*Con, though. I'm biased. ;)

There's a large pool of artists and a limited amount of slots. *shrug*

Dragoncon does seem to have a few favorites they plug every year, though. If anything sometimes I wonder if a few of their "regulars" could be refreshed with new blood.
