Outside Pixie Cabin, Friday Afternoon

Angela had shipped almost all of her stuff home, but it wasn't time to leave for her flight yet. The last of her luggage was stacked just inside the cabin living room. Outside the cabin, she sat on the ground near the campfire, poking at the ashes with a stick and thinking.

Xander made his way to the camp for the first time in years, finding Angela's cabin less via her directions than with a little help from the ferret currently sitting on his shoulder.

"Hey, you."

"Weiiiiiiird," Angela said. "It's good to know there's a me in your universe. Even if she didn't get to come here." She paused. "Did she sound happy?"

[needsaparrot]

"We didn't talk all that long - I think she was going out someplace for New Year's Eve. But maybe, yeah. She didn't sound unhappy, anyway."

It felt weird to be happy about that - her future alternate self's happiness -- but Angela was. "That's good, anyhow," she said. "So ... do you think you'll still be in town for Homecoming? Because if you will, this is 'see you later,' not 'goodbye.'"

[needsaparrot]

"I better see you for Homecoming. No getting stuck in the last century allowed." Yeah, he knew he was giving that order to... everybody who left, and he had exactly bupkis when it came to enforcing it.

"No getting stuck, I promise," Angela said, aware she couldn't really say that. "Can I give you a hug so-long, or will that dislodge Bridge?"

"I think we can manage it somehow." Xander leaned over to give her a hug. Bridge... did a very good impression of a bow-tie.

Angela squeezed Xander tight. "Thanks for the sidekick lessons," she said. "I will see you soon."

[bridge_carson]

Bridge gives a little ferret-y squeak and noses at Angela's cheek. //Can you tell her I'd rather be giving her a goodbye hug but ferrets aren't exactly made for that?// he asks Xander.

"Bridge says he'd rather get in on the hugging, but he's sadly anatomically incorrect. At the moment."
