You know, I don't consider myself a terribly domestic person, but there are very few things more satisfying to me than cooking. Something about knowing that I created this, with my own hands -- I love it. And it's not like I usually have someone to cook for (save for the times when spazzula is kind enough to eat what I cook *lol*) so it's only for me. ( Read more... )

Mmmm, rosemary potatoes. I've only tried making those once, and that was... before I actually had rosemary, *blush*

I did, however, make the tomato & basil pasta completely from memory tonight, *proud*

...And you know I have absolutely no objections to you cooking for me, seeing as how I tend to peer over your shoulder and write down how you make stuff, *lol*

Hey, that's what I was making tonight -- the tomato and basil pasta because that's what I had at the apartment and I didn't feel like hititng up the Teeter *lol* Good stuff. Yay for making it from memory.

I like cooking for you because you're positive reinforcement. You don't choose McNuggets over me. I don't think I'm a bad cook.

And, as much as I'm afraid of this answer -- how did you try to make rosemary potatoes without the *rosemary*?

...I substituted a bit of italian seasoning, since it contains rosemary. It wasn't bad, and I used less than I would have it it'd been actual rosemary, but I also immediately put rosemary on my grocery list, heh. Mostly I haven't done it again because I found it difficult to tell when the potatoes were cooked enough; that's one dish I haven't actually watched you make, you just told me how you did it.

Dom likes the tomato & basil pasta, and it's few enough ingredients that I could buy all of it at the store without breaking the budget, since our little suite is stocked with milk, eggs, and half a dozen mini boxes of cereal, heh.

We'll have to make it sometime. It's another one of those 'I know it's done when I know' which is so not conducive to explaining in writing *lol*

That, and do you like rice pilaf? I have a great bit I make :)

Don't tell me all you're planning to eat is cereal. Bad Stacey, bad.
