Mrs. Cook came and left, assuring Jack that she won't tell his mom about him being up and around all day and it ended up being completely uneventful.

Waking up the next morning, he felt like pulling the same trick, wanting to just dive in his covers and go back to sleep for the rest of the day, but after a couple minutes, his alarm clock shut off and he peeked an eye open to find that his mom was the cause.

"Jack, get up now unless you want me to pick out your outfits for a week," she threatened before walking across the hall to the bathroom and grabbing her purse.

"I'm leaving, so get ready right now. Oh, and I won't be home for dinner tonight, so I left money to order out."

Jack rolled his eyes a little as he heard the door shut and his phone vibrate on the table next to him.

Be there in 45.

Jack gave a little smirk at Rian's need to be precise. If it were Jack texting, he thought, he would definitely had just said half hour or an hour. But that was just Jack.

He took a shower, straightened through his hair a bit, naked in front of the bathroom mirror and admired his body like the self centered prick he really was and made his way down stairs when he got the text from Rian. Apple in hand, he slung his bag over his shoulder and hopped into the car.

"Sup, Ri?"

"Morning, Jack-o. Do you really want that apple, because I brought you some McDonalds," Rian answered, setting the bag on his friend's lap, much to Jack's delight.

"Oh baby, oh baby," Jack said with a grin. "How much is it going to cost me this time?"

His tone was horrible suggestive and Rian laughed as he pulled off the street.

"Oh, you know. My math is starting to pile up a little," Rian teased. "You think you can help me out there, professor?"

"Uh, I think not!" Jack said as he took a bit bite of his sandwich, spewing little chunks of biscuit about. "I have so much fucking work it's not even funny. And now Mr. Gaskarth thinks I need tutoring in English. I fucking speak English, that's all I need. I'm going to just grow up and marry Mark Hoppus anyway so who gives a fuck? Not me."

Rian gave him the most genuine laugh. "Bro, I think you should just shut up and eat before you turn my car into a trash hole with your spittle."

Jack met Zack at school, talking with a few of his friends against his lockers about some test coming up but Jack walked on to his locker, stuffing a few books in and pulling a few out before shutting the metal door and spying a, wide eyed, Kyle, back to the very end of the hall way, about ten feet from Jack himself. Thought Jack might have been the last thing he was looking at.

He had his bright blue eyes locked tight a boy from Jack's class. Caleb Turman, maybe? Jack only knew his first name and that was definitely Caleb. He was from Jack's math class and they'd even been partners on the last assignment.

"What 'cha doin'?" Jack asked, having snuck up next to Kyle easily and the blonde jumped, turning to the elder abruptly.

"Nothing!" he squeaked, eyes shifted about. "Nothing at all."

Jack smirked, folding himself next to the younger, looking straight at Caleb like the blonde had been.

"Were you admiring that boy there?" he asked, jerking his eyes from Kyle's to Caleb.

"N-no," the boy denied, pulling his books close to his chest. "Of course not."

"Oh, come now," Jack said with a grin, slinking an arm over Kyle's shoulder to pull him close. "Lying isn't a very nice thing to do."
And just as planned, Caleb turned then, heading to his class that just happened to be in the direction that Jack and Kyle were placed. Jack leaned in a little further to the blonde, making it look like they were obviously a couple and Kyle frowned, shrugging him off a second too late, just as Caleb passed.

"Jack!" he exclaimed. "Why did you do that?"

"You're not interested in him, remember?" Jack said smugly, shrugging and heading off to his first class, leaving the blonde to pout.

--

It wasn't until English that he saw Kyle again and the boy still seemed to be pouting, crumpled slightly in his chair, tapping his pencil against the slate table in front of him.

"Kyle, you need to lighten up a little. He's just a boy, right?" Jack said coyly, taking his seat next to the blonde and reaching a hand over to cup his cheek in mock pity.

"Oh, shove it, Jack," Kyle squeaked. "I'm beyond pissed at you!"

Jack gave him a little smirk. "You'll get over it."

"Jack, shut up," came Alex's voice from the doorway.
The blondes eyes watched as the teacher made his way into the class room, no bag or book in hand but a big grin plastered across his face.
Jack noticed that his usual suit was completely replaced by a form fitting, black t-shirt with white print across the chest, a tight pair of blue skinnies and a pop of color in his red Converse.

"Why is it, every time I enter the classroom, it seems like you're talking?" he asked again with a bit of smugness in his smile.

Jack popped him a little sneer as he leaned back in his chair, folding his arms over his chest to match Kyle's previous position.

Alex eyed the class for a second before speaking again, perching himself on top of his desk. "Well, I'm not really in a teaching mood. Do what you wish for the rest fo the hour. Also, remember that the homework assigned for you to turn in today will be due tomorrow then."

Jack rolled his eyes. He'd spent all that time trying to figure out stupid sentence structure in his essay and Alex did this. Well, at least then it's done for tomorrow and I can relax tonight.

"Hey, you wanna see a movie tonight, Jack?"

The skunk haired boy turned around to see Alicia Slyke, leaning forward so close that she was almost kissing the boy. She gave him a dirty smirk and Jack's brown eyes wandered down her partially unbottoned, button-up shirt.

"Last time we 'saw a movie' I screamed so loud it almost hurt," she said in a sly, voice.

Kyle blinked a few times. "Was it a horror movie?"

Jack looked over at him blankly for a second before rolling his eyes. The boy seemed to have completely missed that they weren't talking about a film at all.

Alicia giggled slickly. "Nope."

Jack offered her a little half smile. "I-" was all he could get out before Alex was speaking over him.

"He can't; he has tutoring tonight actually."

Jack looked up at his teacher with a glare. "Tonight, really?"

"Too bad." Alicia's lips fell into a pout. "Maybe another time."
