Masterpost "Hey, Jack," Joyce called up down the stairs to the basement, as she shut the front door.
"What!" Jack answered over the sound of his music, pressing pause on his iPod dock so he could hear her better.
"Kyle's here."
Jack perked up at that, setting a box down on his bed. "Send him down."
The blonde made his way down the spiral staircase, smiling as he went to hug Jack.
"I'm ready to help!" he chirped and Jack nodded.
"Well, that's good, because there's a lot of boxes," he spoke. "And we have to paint."
Jack was moving his room to the basement that week, giving space in his old room for storage or a spare bedroom. Or at least that's what he told his mom; mostly it was for the added privacy and independance. Plus, there was a little bar down there with a fridge and that was enough of a deal sealer for Jack.
Kyle helped him all day long, and they had the whole room painted by five. Jack sighed a bit, tired out as he painted out the last white strip of wall, light blue paint smeared over various parts of his body. He turned to find Kyle looked the same way, tired and messy, and he laughed a bit.
"Oh man, I feel like that took forever," Jack noted as he stepped over the boxes on the floor over to where Kyle was sat.
"Yeah, but we got the first coat on!" Kyle answered, entusiastically, and Jack's expression fell.
"Oh, man, yeah. We still have another day of this before we can even start moving in the bed and stuff."
Kyle nodded, standing and laying his head on Jack's shoulder. "Yeah, but I'll be here to help," he assured and Jack glanced down at him, smiling back when he saw those bright blue eyes.
And that was just Friday.
Jack thanked his lucky stars that they had a three day weekend, because he was going to need it. They ordered in pizza the next day for lunch, putting on the second coat. The day seemed to go a lot faster, and they finished by about three, letting it dry until six before they started to move more boxes in. Rian came about seven and the three of them were able to get Jack's desk to the basement by taking out the front door and down the tornado doors.
The bed prooved a lot more challenging, considering that they had to take apart the frame and head board to get it down and the matress had to be turned verically and then to a fourty-five dsegree angle to get it anywhere. They finally got it in place with only a few scuffs and scrapes and Jack thanked them both. Rian left then, claiming that he had a family diner.
Jack suspected that maybe he just didn't want to stay to move more.
Kyle, however, stayed until it was completely dark.
"Hm, your room looks pretty good," Kyle noted, taking a sip of juice that Jack had offered him.
"Yeah, I think so too. Tomorrow, I'll work on unpacking boxes," Jack added.
"You boys did so well," Joyce called from the kitchen. "Do you want to stay for dinner, Kyle?"
Kyle's blue eyes landed on her in the kitchen. "Oh, well I did last night. Maybe I should just go."
Jack rolled his eyes, placing a hand on Kyle's shoulder. "You should just stay. We can watch movies and stuff."
Kyle smiled a little, nodding when he was gestured into the kitchen and he sat next to Jack at the dining table.
They had a nice chicken dish, Kyle opting out for just the salad Jack's mom had made for an appitizer, and they had a blast. They talked and laughed and gradually made their way to the living room. They watched the entire Jackass series, laughing their asses off until they fell asleep on the couch at around midnight.
--
Jack's mom woke them bright and early though and it only took them an hour to wake up and eat before they were unpacking boxes in Jack's room. They finished at five and Kyle went home.
The next day at school went fine, nothing in particular happening until lunch when Rian showed up, informing Jack that he had been pretty sick that morning, vomiting and what not, and Jack agreed - he looked horrible. That was that until English.
About half way through the class Jack went to look at the board - to copy down what had been writen - when he noticed Alex, seemingly working on something on his desk.
Seemingly.
But his eyes weren't on whatever he had on his desk, his eyes were on Jack.
Knowing that he'd been caught staring, he only adverted his eyes, his face flushing a bit as he unconsciously adopted a bit of a grin.
Jack just bit down on his tongue a bit, eyebrow quirking before he went back to what he was working on.
The end of the day came quickly, and the rest of the class was filing out of the room to go home. Jack was about to do the same when Alex stood suddenly, eyes hard on Jack. The boy noticed instantly.
He turned a bit to look at the teacher, bottom lip popping open a little and Alex gave him a bit of a frusterated smile.
"Are you free tonight?" he asked, shoving papers into his leather messenger bag.
Jack just nodded a little across the room. "Yeah, why?"
"Because I'm coming over for another lesson," he said, voice cracking a bit as he picked up his messenger bag and shuffled out before Jack.
The student just stood there, a little confused as to why Alex was being so friendly with him. He brushed it off and headed home.
It wasn't until eight that he got a knock on the door, and he stood to answer a grinning Alex behind it. Jack had eaten diner alone about a half hour ago and the boy was just starting to get comfortable on the couch, having popped in a movie when the teacher showed up.
He just stood at the door, taking in what Alex was wearing - or rather how he was wearing it.
He had unbuttoned his deep green dress shirt from school about half way down his body, having changed into a tight pair of skinny jeans somewhere along the way and he was just giving Jack this little -dare he say- sexy glare, dark eyes clouded a bit.
"Well," Alex started. "Are you going to let me in?"
He impatiently tapped his short finger nails on the frame of the door before Jack gave him a little huffy laugh, stepping out of the way.
"What will I be learning today?" Jack asked as Alex stepped further away from the boy, grinning - not that Jack could see.
"Oh, all kinds of things," the elder answered, turning his head to look back at the boy, but not meeting his eyes. Jack seemed pretty unimpressed though. Seemed.
"Can I use your bathroom?" Alex asked, demenor changing completely as he clutched his bag tight to his side and Jack just laughed dryly.
"No."
Alex rolled his eyes, starting up the stairs and out of Jack's view. "I'll be back."
"Yeah, whatever," Jack chuckled, shuffling the blankets on the couch to one side before locking the front door, just in case. He made his way to the kitchen then, getting a soda from the fridge before realizing that he didn't hear Alex upstairs at all. The whole house was completely silent save for the soft hum of the TV.
He cocked an eyebrow then, starting slowly and quietly up the stairs, setting his soda down on an end table at the bottom of the staircase. He tried his best to be completely quiet, wincing as one of the stairs creeked under him. He rushed silently to the top then, peering around the corner into his mom's room where he saw Alex, hold up a piece of his mother's jewlery, a gold necklace to be more specific, and he watched as his English teacher stuffed the item into his leather bag. Alex looked pleased with himself as he dipped his hand back into Joyce's jewlery box, pulling out a ring then.
Jack's jaw dropped open, and he bolted into his mother's room, grabbing Alex by the collar of his shirt before the elder could even register what was happeneing.
When he realized he had been caught though, Alex's dark eyes popped open and he dropped his bag to the floor.
"Jack!" he yelped.
"You fucker, what do you think you're doing?!" Jack yelled back, pulling him in and then pushing him with a loud thud against the wall, Alex's head hitting hard against it.
"Ah!" he squeaked, shutting his eyes in pain.
"How fucking long have you been doing this?" Jack asked, pulling him forward and smashing him back again for he could even answer.
Alex whimpered again, wincing as a wave of pain shot through his head.
"How long?!" Jack screamed in his face and Alex clenched his teeth, baring them to the student.
"A while, okay?!" he whimpered back before he growled under his breath. "Jack, let go."
"No!" Jack yelled, pushing him back against the wall harder.
Alex's eyes went even darker then as he pushed back against Jack and he grinned, panting a little. "Are you gunna to tell on me?" he purred and Jack's scowl loosened into confusion.
"I-"
"I'll give you a few good reasons not to," Alex tried and Jack's eyes widened. He dropped his grip on the elder of them then, letting him simply fall to the carpeted floor.
Alex grinned up at him, biting his bottom lip as he tried to catch the breath that Jack had knocked out of him.
"What do you mean?" Jack asked, backing up a bit.
But Alex just grinned up at him, reaching a hand out for Jack to help him up. The younger stared at the hand skeptically before just taking a few steps back, a look of disgust on his face.
Alex laughed, pulling himself up off the floor, using Joyce's bed as support.
"You're sick," Jack muttered, shaking his head at the mess of a human in front of him.
"You're right," Alex answered, dusting himself off a bit before he picked up his bag, starting past Jack, out of his mother's room. But Jack wasn't having that.
"What do you think you're doing?" he yelled at the teacher, but that didn't stop Alex, he started down the stairs, to the ground floor, Jack following him closely. "Do you think I'm going to let you steal my mom's things?"
Alex turned then, sighing a bit as he planted himself on the head rest of Jack's couch, dropping his bag.
"Alex, what am I supposed to do?" Jack asked, brow furrowing again as he crossed his arms and stared at the teacher. He starting talking again before Alex could answer though. "Did you take our good China too? And the statue from the mantle?" Jack prompted and Alex just huffed a laugh, biting his bottom lip. He nodded innocently.
Jack reached a hand up to pinch the bridge of his nose, hanging his head so he could think. He only took a second though before he opened his eyes again, finding that Alex was directly in front of him then.
He didn't move, just gave a little sigh as he let his teacher connect his lips to Jack's neck.
The younger didn't react at first, not until Alex's tongue darted out, sucking on a patch of skin on his neck, and then Jack clenched his teeth, reaching a hand up to push the elder back a bit.
Alex stared at him with a grin.
"Alex," Jack started, voice strong as he crossed his arms over his chest again, but he unfolded them just as fast. The whole thing made him beyond uncomfortable.
He reached down to pick up Alex's bag, fully aware that his mom's possesions were still inside, and he handed it to the teacher.
"Alex, take this, and go," he allowed. And the teacher almost barked a laugh, reaching out and snatching his bag from Jack's grasp.
Alex turned then, quickly pecking Jack's cheek with a quick kiss before bolting out of the house - before Jack could change his mind.
