Out of all of the memorable images from the campaign and election night and the coming inaguration, I think the one that will always stick in my mind is that of Jesse Jackson crying in Grant Park on election night listening to the new President-Elect. We all talk about how historical Obama's election is, but seeing Jesse Jackson so overcome with emotion - the history, the struggle, the losses, and the gratefulness at being alive to see the day, it was all there in his eyes and it was one of the most moving things I have ever seen. Even though it could never mean to me a tenth of what it means to Jesse, and thousands of others who fought so hard for civil rights, I too am very grateful that I could be part of this historical event.
