Cecilia went home last night.

She is far from well, but this is a major threshold on the "better" scale. She will be in no danger of becoming a stranger at the hospital. She will be doing outpatient dialysis 3 or 4 times a week and a regular battery of tests. So glad for a positive update! I didn't ask about Cecilia when I ran into you at Half-Price Books because I was quite sure you would post an update when there was one. And you did post an update, and it's good. Question: How long will she be doing dialysis? (And if this is "until the new bone marrow is a bit more settled in," and you don't have the number of weeks or months, that's good to know too.)

There is every indication that the bone marrow transplant took. The kidney problem is a typical side effect of the treatment, both before and after. As for how long on dialysis, as long as it takes. Could be soon, could be several weeks. Since she has some kidney output, they are confident that her kidneys will regenerate.
