This actually reminds me of a really old TV show that I saw when I was like.. 7. (I PROMISE I'M GOING SOMEWHERE WITH THIS.)
It was called "Mantis" and in the end of this one episode, pretty much the only part of the show I really remember, the hero (Mantis) was in this sort of illusionary hell-world with the villain. And the villain says "Do you see where you are? You're in hell! This is where your rage and your hatred has brought you!"
To which Mantis replies, "This is your creation, not mine! To be angry at evil is not wrong!"
Seems like Phinny could use hearing that, if she's feeling guilty for being glad Nik's gone. <3
Pop pop pop will forever live with ping ping ping.
I feel bad for Phinny. :c She didn't have to deal with Snowmoth directly, yeah, but she was left watching people around her be injured and hurt. I can't imagine what that was like. ;; And then he's dead and she's left with that wariness towards the visceral hate she has for Snowmoth, even if it's justified.
Like she told Isandare, it left her with her hands tied. The desire to do the better thing and the trainwreck that was watching it happen from other sides made her both angry and horrified.
If he is dead, then I shall light candles of Mercy for his broken, unnatural soul to the Light, that he find his just desserts in the afterlife.
...This may seem kind of strange to say but as Phinny is so very devout to the Light, it actually kind of makes me grin to see how very satisfied she is about Nik being gone. I don't know, maybe that's silly. xD But she's so heartfelt and genuinely dedicated to good that having her celebrate Nik's death feels like a bit of villainous validation.
I definitely agree with Felix's comment though that I feel bad for her left with unsettled feelings like that. It's a really interesting piece of character depth though.
Well, he was cutting off people's ears that isn't something anyone sane or not-suffering would do, in her opinion. And that he was just so flippant about it made her really go, "No. This is not a person I want in my life."
Also he is deader, and some deaders just need to stay dead.
