I’ve been pondering recently, while in the midst of various hand-crafty activities (knitting, crochet, tapestry, and the like…), what a truly pleasant thing it would be to pass the occasional afternoon in the company of others engaged in similar activities… Perhaps on a pre-arranged, regular day, say, once a month?

I would be interested but my crafty-ness seems to be either (a) sewing-machine or (b) computer bound atm. Although a regular afternoon once a month may be just what I need to brush up my crocheting skills.

On the other hand, are you aware of the Goth Stitch 'n' Bitch group (LJ here - http://community.livejournal.com/sydneygothsnb/profile) which meet up regularly (once a week I think) in various cafes and pubs around Newtown? I've never actually managed to make it along to one of their gatherings ...

Yeah, I've heard of a few stitch'n'bitch style groups around the place, but the thought of dragging some of my projects out to a dirty old cafe or pub somewhere makes me cringe - tapestry for example, or crisp white baby knitting... :( So I was thinking in comfy warm/cool loungeroom with yummy homemade snacks *nods* :D

Is there a good or bad regular weekend/day of the month for you? Even if there was just a two or three people, I still think it would be great fun :)

Unfortunately the 2-weeks-out-of-3 arrangement for having the boys means that there isn't a regular kiddy-free weekend every month for me, so it would be best to plan to other people's schedules and I'd come when I was able to. Hell, I might even be able to come with one of the boys (if that was ok with others) - the younger one often has a project on the go himself.
