He doesn't particularly like formal functions. Never has, and he never will, if he has anything to say about it. Especially not ones hosted by Austria, because God knows that man insists on proper behaviour at all times and has Hungary to enforce it for him.

Thus, after that meeting, he's a bit desperate to avoid such a fate. After all, he's just spent the better part of a day cooped up with a bunch of people that he tolerates to varying degrees. He would rather not subject himself to a night of more of the same.

Thus, when Denmark asks if he has a moment? "...Yeah, whaddya want?"

"I want to go drinking later, but I don't wanna speak this shithead's language." He shrugs. It's not even Austria, it is more all of this.

And it's a reason as good as any to get Prussia to come with him. Because he hates drinking alone, drinking alone is for losers, and those territories that have stayed with him are either children or want his blood, and not here anyway.

"Wanna come with me?"

He'll be good and not point out that he speaks the same language as Austria. Even if it's a very tempting thought. Besides, Denmark could easily mean that the only reason he's inviting him is because he speaks German.

"...Can't be any worse than my original plans." In other words, sure, he'll come with. Considering his earlier plans were to get as drunk as possible before dealing with dancing and shit, the idea of not dealing with such appeals to him greatly.

It is a good plan, isn't it? Making Prussia do the "ask for directions and deal with the waitress" and not having to deal with stupid answers and confusion.

He does speak enough German to get by, he just prefers to not use it. "There have ta be places that aren't coffeehouses and sell real beer." He grins and tugs at his sleeve. "And we can wear more comfortable clothes. I'll just have to make sure that Rosenkrantz doesn't catch me." He isn't really worried about that, though. He has hardly ever been overly worried about what his bosses imply that they want of him when the other option was beer.
