Rose makes me go ;wwwww;

Older ljfriends of mine know how I feel about people saying that online relationships don't matter. (I don't like it.) Online people are real. Behind every screen there is a face, a person, a someone who can be hurt or influenced or uplifted by words just like anyone else. A someone you can laugh with, talk to, know. ( Read more... )

awww i like reading this.

"Behind every screen there is a face, a person, a someone who can be hurt or influenced or uplifted by words just like anyone else."

THIS, so much! nothing makes me more GRR angry than people who feel like they can troll on other people and feel like they can get away with it because "oh internet serious business". real people get hurt from that kind of behavior.

complaining aside, i really love all the people that i've become friends with online.

That is one of the things I was thinking of when I was typing this. People are just so petty sometimes. I understand people being fed up with whatever and wanting to let it out, but ... idk, they could always rant on their own journal instead of trolling to make someone else feel bad. I've gotten to that point where I'm ignoring the things I don't like (those that don't impact me) and trying to focus on what makes me happy.

me tooo.

The internet is srs bizness. (am I doing it right?)

All joking aside, you say it so well. People always sort of end up looking down at people that have online relationships in any way, be it romantic or just "aksl;sgldg;ldfk YOU ARE MY BEST FRIEND~" or whatever. But I guess it's the same with fangirling--don't knock it 'til you've tried it.

the internets is srs bsns, I think. (lol idek XD)

yes. I was talking about online stuff at work once, and apparently one of my coworkers met her husband online. So she knows how real attachment can be formed over the internet. (:

To be honest I just have 2 rl friends and you can say it's kinda sad, maybe it is but I'm glad to have online friends to fangirl with, talk to, laugh with and know.

aw, I know what you mean. Once you're out of high school it's so much harder to make friends, even if you're going to college and esp if you don't live on campus. Idek where to start. And thennn, once you're out of college it's like... augh. Work friends aren't always willing converts to fandom and other things you find fun. People get set in their ways and it seems like fewer are open to random chats between strangers or getting together with others they don't know so well (it sounds so dangerous the way I worded it..) to see how it could go. I guess... to put it succinctly, people close themselves off a bit.
