3. Character Information II
Age/Appearance:
Noa is from a line of Sky Dolls marketed as "highly customizable." She's made from bioplastics, which mimic the texture and temperature of human skin. It's ivory in color, but each part of the Sky Doll is replaceable. The joints of the elbows, knees, ankles and toes are highly visible, as well as seams in the torso for different parts of the Dolls' construction. Like the native people of Papathea, Sky Dolls also have tails and exaggerated "ears." The "ears" of the Sky Doll are nodes and differentiate the Dolls from real people, even when their joints are hidden by clothing. On their backs, they have a hole where their wind-up key can be inserted. Most Sky Dolls choose to keep this hole freely visible, since they must be wound-up every 33 hours, or else they will shut off.
By default, Sky Dolls have no distinguishing features from the rest of their line. They are not given hair (anywhere), and this is a customization option for their owner. As such, Noa goes through many different hairstyles, but without a specially designed wig, she is completely bald. To mimic the race of Papathea, Noa's face mirrors their people and has no seams. She has a feline-like, button nose where the bottom is a light pink. Also, unlike many dolls in her line, Noa has purple eyes instead of red. In terms of age, it's unknown, but she's likely no more than two or three years old.
History: Again, this series is terribly obscure, sadly, so
here's a history.
Personality:
Sky Dolls, as a default, are given no real personality of their own. Their personality only exists on a chip. Noa is different. Because she was created differently, Noa has a personality of her own. While this difference is not actually easily seen in the comic (those personality chips must be damn good), it is told to us. Noa is a bubbly and social Sky Doll--she has no problems at all jumping into a crowd, and is perfectly happy to introduce herself to everyone in that crowd. She's a kind and gentle person who doesn't like to hurt anyone. She would much rather help everyone she can. Because of that, she'll sometimes do things that she doesn't necessarily want to do without (much) complaint, but she's still strong-willed. She doesn't let people push her around too much, but she does have a certain amount of give to verbal abuse, considering the industry she works in and what she is. It annoys her on the inside, but she'll just confront it with a smile and be as nice as always.
She does have a tendency to be a bit sarcastic, but this is usually shadowed by how bold she is. Noa will plunge headfirst in a situation without thinking twice about it, making her appear a bit ditzy because of her naivete in certain areas. But she's brave enough to tell her boss to his face that he's rude and just generally a terrible person. Noa will say what's on her mind, but she'll try and do it in the nicest way possible. Still, she's much more likely to be sarcastic and a bit bitchy to rude people. She hates rudeness!
Noa isn't totally naive, though. Since she manages herself and has control over her life more than any other Doll, she has a certain amount of street smarts. She generally doesn't get herself into terrible situations. She has enough sense to pick her masters carefully enough. None of them have been exactly in the running for the Nobel Peace Prize, but good enough.
The thing that Noa wants to know most is more about herself. She is living a relatively easy life and has friends, but she's unhappy in a lot of ways. She feels different from the other Dolls, and without her dreams of Agape, she has no way to explain them. It's just a feeling that she always has that she doesn't belong, that she's missing something. Other than those kinds of self-identification problems, Noa is very confident in herself. Obviously she has no physical flaws, but she's happy with who she is--she only wants to know why she is that way and how she came to be. Because of the Mnemonic Limiter, this is more than a little difficult, but she believes that the answers are waiting somewhere.
But speaking of belief, Noa doesn't have much in the way of spirituality. She understands the basics of the religion of Papathea, but doesn't know much about its workings. She has catered to clients in the church before, but they were only clients--she didn't really bother to get to the point where she understood their belief system. Noa doesn't really believe that she has a soul, since she's a Doll, but would like to. Like many of the more advanced dolls, Noa secretly wishes that she was "human" (the species of Papathea haven't been given a real name yet), but she also knows that it's impossible. It doesn't stop her from wishing.
Since Noa is so social, she is easily able to relate to other people and make friends. Since she's worked in the sex industry and other various industries that require a lot of interaction, she's very good at being open and tries to be non-judgmental. Her bubbly personality plays off of other social butterflies, but she is also persistent enough to try and make friends with more ornery and socially withdrawn characters. She really likes to be friendly!
This is especially easy because Noa isn't particularly opinionated about anything. Since her memories only last for an unknown amount of time (probably a little less than a year), she doesn't really have time to form her own opinions. That doesn't mean she isn't open to forming them or to learning in general. Noa is very eager to learn new things, and is one reason when she likes to change jobs so frequently. Getting to know new things is an exciting challenge for her. She's a Sky Doll of average intelligence with no real aptitude in one specific area, but has good operational knowledge spread across the board.
Noa gets emotional easily, and will freak out if she thinks something has gone bad, or be sad if something is remotely sad. She's a very emotional android, which the Sky Doll corporation would consider a flawed Doll. But she also has a variety of quirks, such as her acute claustrophobia and her tendency to pick up accents quickly when spending time with people. These traits are unheard of in other Sky Dolls, and would just be more flaws. However, most people don't tend to notice those "flaws," since Noa is such a kind, bubbly and sometimes ditzy person that they become good friends quickly.
Sexual Preferences/Orientation:
As a being created almost solely for sexual purposes, Noa is of course quite open to sex! She has a tendency to be flirtatious, but she rarely initiates sexual relationships on her own. Sex is a job to her, so of course she's bored of it, in a way. That said, since the world of Sky Doll is one where women are mostly repressed, Noa has only ever has male clients, so she personally identifies as heterosexual. That's not to say that she would turn down a female client, though.
Powers:
Since Noa hosts the spirit of Agape, she is able to perform "miracles." The nature of her abilities is currently unknown, but one ability was shown and has been repeated. Noa has the ability to resurrect the dead, both animal and human. Presumably, the subject can be dead for several hours before Noa resurrects them, and this is with no detriment to her. However, these powers are dormant for now. Noa may discover them in her time in Bete Noire, but for now, she has no knowledge of them.
Reason for playing:
Well, Noa is from a very special canon, where religion and sex kind of mix together in this oddly dark mix. The world of Sky Doll and Bete Noire are completely different, but that same undertone of darkness is what I find so interesting about both her canon and the game. Noa is a very cheerful and innocent character despite her innately sexual nature, so she would do well in a setting where the sexual aspect doesn't have to be repressed and she still gets to deal with the aspects of being a humanoid robot with more individuality and soul than others.
So I think that Bete Noire would give Noa an excellent chance to grow and face some of those issues because of the darker nature of the setting as well as perhaps growing past her ditzy and naively kind and trusting nature.

First-Person:
...Well. Um, this certainly isn't Papathea, but this isn't really what I had in mind when I asked for a vacation! I mean, when I asked God if I could have a day off, he got kind of mad not like that's unusual but I didn't think I'd get... I don't know, banished to a distant planet, or something!
This is another planet, right? Nothing really looks familiar...
Oh, but I'm getting distracted! Anyways, hi there! My name is Noa. I'm looking for a way to get home. Obviously! I'm a Sky Doll working at the Heaven Space Wash, soooo if you've ever heard of that place, could you tell me how to get there? God would definitely be mad if I didn't show up for work!
...I wonder if my Mnemonic Limiter is malfunctioning? I hope not. That would just be more bad luc--Wait, there's a bar! Helloooo, can you help me? My name is Noa and-- [The feed cuts off]
Third-Person:
Tuesdays were Noa's favorite day. It was for the same reason that anyone else favors a particular day or the weekends--no work. The Wash was closed on Tuesdays, which mostly meant that the Dolls all lazed around and slept for most of the day. There was nothing wrong with that! But unfortunately, Tuesday was also chores day. Since Bonny Robin had cleaned the place last Tuesday (including God's saintly shroud that he was planning on selling), that meant that it was Noa's turn to clean.
She couldn't believe how dirty it had gotten in a week. While everyone else was sleeping, she had to step carefully around the piles of clothes. She could see quite clearly that her co-workers underwear was stained with their internal fluids! Noa wasn't the most neat person in the world, but she made sure to wash her underwear every day, at least. ...Well, when God remembered to pay her. Maybe she couldn't criticize after all.
She picked up a pile of laundry that wasn't laden with underwear, taking it towards the laundry room, but something was in her way. Her foot caught something on the floor, and she tumbled to the ground in a style typical of an old comedy show, leaving a bra stuck on her head. Noa frowned, blowing hard to get the strap out of her face.
Noa started to pick up the clothes again, grumbling lightly about how they needed to pick up after themselves, but when she looked around for the culprit that had tripped her, she saw that it was a package. Much more interested by that, she set the laundry down on top of the machine, picking up the package to look at the label.
"...'To Robin...' I bet it's a present from that nice man whose spaceship we washed the other week. He didn't have to send her a present, though! Hmm, I proooobably shouldn't open it, since it's Robin's, but...How bad could it be?" she said brightly, and tore the top open. But when she looked down inside the present, she couldn't help but giggle. She took the mysterious item out of the package and was off to share it, the laundry completely forgotten.
She snuck back to the room where everyone was sleeping, and saw that the lights were still off. Giggling mischievously, she flipped the light switch and jumped into the room, holding it out.
"Hey, Robin, I found your package!" she exclaimed, "Look, it's a dild---oh."
On the other side of the room, God was standing there with the other Dolls. There was a group of men with him, all of them looking quite shocked. Some of them even looked like they were from the Church. The other Dolls were trying not to laugh, but Noa just let the threw the dildo over her shoulder into the other room, beaming brightly as if nothing had happened.
Obviously it was the first Tuesday in the month. ...How was she supposed to keep track of when he had his meeting here if he wouldn't buy them a calendar?!
Third-Person #2:
It was kind of weird, working in a bar where you dressed up like fictional characters. Noa didn't really get it, but the customers really went crazy over it. The Madam's bar was one of the richest in this part of town, so apparently it worked pretty well.
Still, there were problems with the whole set-up, when it came down to it.
"Just this zipper here, and this pull and--oh, crap, it's stuck again!" Noa groaned as she wriggled her hips, trying to get out of the skimpy costume of some character that she didn't know. I mean, really, why would you wear armor that only covered your boobs if you were going to go fighting dragons, or something?! That didn't make sense at all. But the customer laughed, moving closer to help her. She could smell the alcohol on his breath and she just laughed easily. Just another typical day.
"Here, let me help," he mumbled, and their hands fumbled together until the flimsy 'armor' fell around her ankles and revealed her supple and perfectly crafted synthetic flesh. These kinds of proportions didn't really exist either on native Papatheans, but again, Noa guessed that it was just something that guys went crazy over.
He pushed her back against one of the plush red walls, and it was business as usual. She grabbed the cheap velvet substitute and moaned sensually as his hands explored, letting out an occasional, coquettish "Oh~ Not there, please~" since apparently this was one of those guys that was into it. But seriously, if you were into the blushing maiden thing, why would you go after Sky Dolls? Noa couldn't even remember losing her virginity, but that wasn't abnormal. Her Mnemonic Limiter had gotten rid of the memory who knew how long ago.
Once they started kissing it was just a manner of continuing the shy, exploratory act, her hands starting to explore him in turn, grabbing his cock and stroking until, finally, they were on the bed. He was on top and ready, but Noa couldn't help but sigh, inwardly.
Missionary position, really? Couldn't they do something more, well, adventurous?
