Le WikiCanon Point: Volume 3, Issue 24 ; Shortly after Nemesis meets Queen Hippolyta. Uh, and obviously pre-reboot. It's sad I have to specify.
Setting:
The DC Universe is a special place. It spans the entire universe, and you had bet that they're all important. Somehow. But since this is Wonder Woman and not, say, a Green Lantern, we can pretty much focus on Earth.
DC's version of Earth is geographically pretty much the same. There are some additional countries, including Diana's homeland of Themyscira, but these additional places aren't usually important. When something is happening on Earth, it takes place in countries that we know. However, the history and politics of this Earth are fairly different. They're as different as you would expect from a world where superpowered beings exist, and not always on the side of good. Magic is very real, as is the supernatural, including Gods. Gods are creatures that you can interact with, and Diana has on many occasions. Technology is advanced, where things like time travel and having superpowered abilities through only technology are quite possible, though somewhat rare.
So of course, there are superheroes and supervillans. Wonder Woman fights for good (duh), and is one of the most recognizable heroes in her world. Along with Superman and Batman, she makes up the superhero trinity, so she's kind of a world leader by proxy. There are many heroes scattered throughout the world to fight crime and such and there's also a team that watches over the entire world called the Justice League, though at her canon point it's currently in the process of restructuring.
Basically, think of DCU as our Earth, but with superheroes. That's the easiest way to explain the inconsistencies from having like a hundred writers. Also, if there are any specific questions about DCU, please ask. I can usually answer any question about the setting.
Personality:
Diana, really, is a woman who's just very dedicated to her cause. It just so happens to be that her cause is "world peace," and she really does mean it. Getting world peace would require a person of outstanding moral fiber and character, and that's just what Diana is. She is genuinely caring, honest, and forgiving. No matter who it is, Diana wants to help them in any way she can, even if it means putting herself in danger. In fact, she does that quite regularly. But it's just how she is. She upholds the standards she sets for herself, and in her universe, several people have remarked how she is the perfect person.
However, that's not completely true, and she's the first to admit it. Diana is committed to her mission to the point of it being a fault. She has doubts and heartbreaks just like any other person, but she often conceals them behind a mask a professionalism until she is among friends or family. This is especially true recently, since about two years before her canon point, Diana broke her own personal oath when she killed a man. Now, granted, he was a scumbucket to rule all scumbuckets, but it was severe enough that many of Diana's friends were upset with her, and Diana herself went into hiding. She's been slowly coming to terms with this, but still has doubts about herself and who she is.
Her extreme caring can be a fault, and makes it especially easy to lure her into traps when her loved ones are in danger, but it does not detract from her. Many characters meeting Diana for the first time are instantly given a sense of calm and safety--it's simply the effect she has on people. She loves everyone that she meets and wishes to give them peace and happiness. She extends this even to her enemies, and though she might beat the crap out of them on a regular basis, she will always extend her hand to help them. A few have taken it, but most haven't. Which makes sense, because that would be a rather boring comic book, wouldn't it? No matter who you are, Diana is there to be your friend, surrogate mother, whatever you need.
Most of the time, though, Diana is kicking ass and taking names. She has a very professional attitude about what, to her, is her job! So at those times, she can seem very cold and distant. But that's simply because, again, when it comes to her goal of peace, she's very no-nonsense. She very rarely hides her opinions even when they would be considered inflamatory, but that's her own honesty showing. She never lies, after all. Part of that is because of her magic lasso that makes anyone that touches it tell the truth (it's always touching her), but regardless, she would still hold a golden standard of honesty.
That coldness in battle comes mostly from her birthplace. Diana is an Amazon, trained in a perfected form of fighting and combat exclusively for women. She never kills (minus Max), but she's not going to hold back. I will admit the never kills thing is a bit contradictory, however, since she's killed some non-humans. lol only humans matter amirite
Point is, she's not going to be killing anyone in game, ever! But she's not to be taken lightly in battle. Even powered down, she has been trained her whole life to fight, and she can do it with ease. It's her second nature. Which is to say, an element of contradiction is also part of Diana's personality. She is distant and diplomatic, but in the next moment, she's your best friend. She does not expect anyone to uphold her standards of honesty and morality, but she steadfastly upholds them herself.
In older incarnations, Diana was also quite pure in her speech and concise, but after killing Max, she got just a tiiiiny bit of an attitude. She's more sarcastic than she was before, and even teasing, but it's never with the purpose to hurt others. The most common person to receive this treatment is her sort-of-boyfriend (it's complicated) Tom Tressier/Nemesis, but he deserves it. Seriously. But her manner of speaking being more casual really helps for people to connect to her more easily. Instead of being so distant and foreign, Diana is able to relate with much more ease to the people of "the Patriarch's World."
In short, Diana truly is a wonder woman--no matter how you know her, you'll be hard pressed to ever forget her. She leaves a strong impression on everyone she meets because of her love and kindness that she extends to everyone, but also because of her steadfast and admirable dedication to bringing peace and comfort to all.
Abilities, Weaknesses, and Power Limitation Suggestions:
Honestly, compared to a lot of DCU characters, Diana isn't ridiculously overpowered. Hell, she's not even consistently powered. But for the purpose of this application, she has the powers of flight, superhuman senses/reflexes and invulnerability, along with the powers of her lasso. I'm not sure if she needs to be powered down since none of her abilities are really game/world-breaking, but if need be, they can all be dampened.
As far as weaknesses go, she kind of doesn't have any. Of course, powered down, she won't be invulnerable, so she could be killed by normal means. In theory.

Clearly, whatever had brought her held a sense of irony. When Diana had thought to herself that she would much rather do anything than mingle with Hollywood business people, she hadn't actually meant it.
It must have been only a few moments after this thought that she started falling, hitting a scrap pile hard. It was a sizable impact, but there had been harder. There was no pause to take in the shock--Diana was almost immediately on her feet with her fists up after the impact. The scratches and deeper cuts were ignored, for they were really nothing worth worrying about to an Amazon.
But there was nothing.
Only then did she allow her guard to drop for a moment, taking in the unusual scene around her. She saw tokens of other worlds, few amongst them familiar. This was a place of no life. That much was clear.
"Welcome to Sacrosanct. Please watch your step."
The greeting toned above her, and Diana's eyes turned towards it, but she knew from its tone that nothing living would greet her. After a moment more, her fists lowered as she sighed just lightly.
Diana wasn't the kind of person to complain, but she felt the smallest twinge of annoyance. Surely whatever had decided to whisk her away to a far away world this time could have at least waited a week from the last one. It wasn't anything worth dwelling on, so the thought was pushed away and instead Diana began to trudge through the piles of scrap. There had to be an exit close by. Maybe things would become clearer with a bit of exploration.

[After fiddling with the wristband for a while after making her way through the junkyard, Diana finally manages to have a hologram of herself sent to the network in all its star-spangled panties glory. And despite how comical that may appear to most people, she's all business.]
To those that receive this message, I extend my greetings along with an apology that this message is received on such serious tones. I am Diana of Themyscira, perhaps known to you by my alias "Wonder Woman." I have arrived on a seemingly abandoned spacecraft named Sacrosanct. Unfortunately, this is roughly the extent of my knowledge.
I request information. I cannot be more specific, but I would gratefully accept anything pertaining to this ship, the AI which I spoke to or the manner in which I have arrived. [She knows better than to ask how to leave.]
I thank you for your time and for any help that you may be able to provide.
