I fail to understand how a "senioritocracy" is better than a meritocracy.

*"Senioritocracy" = a new term I just made up wherein those with seniority get to decide the rules for all union members. Some pigs are more equal.

Like any -tocracy, nothing seems so incredibly obvious to the people making the rules as the need for them to *continue* making the rules.
