London Film & Comic Con and Wales (July/August 2016) - Part 1

Aug 13, 2016 22:41

Hi there,

I can't believe it's already been a week since I got back from my trip. First there were some very exhausting, but equally exciting days in London with iolandasblog, where we attended (more or less) the LFCC. As there weren't many interesting guests for both of us, we came up with our own entertainment programme a.k.a. geocaching the hell out of ( Read more... )

I went to Carmarthen and Merlin's hill a few years ago. Wow, the path really is overgrown! We had a cute sheepdog follow us all the way up the hill but I agree. The view was spectacular. Glad to see you got up there! Great pictures.

My icon is from Merlin's hill. As you can see the path was clear.

Wow, that was fast. ^^

Oh yes, I recognise the path on your icon! How cool! :D I was glad as well, I made it. Just so worth it. :)

Hehe, I'm sure that was the same dog that blocked the door to the heritage centre after I went in. *lol* The owner told me afterwards, he probably wanted to make sure I'm safe in there. ;)

Really nice pictures! I love the dragon sitting there. And sheep are always welcomed ;)

Great photos! This could be a real fun, the London trip and the journey at Wales, too. I loved your photos about the cute little animals and the dragon statues especially. Lovely places! Reading those signs, the Welsh language seems interesting. Thanks for sharing! :)

The Welsh language is quite curious, they rarely use any vowels, it seems.

I'll post more pictures soon, I've seen some really nice places in Wales, and one of them was even a filming location for Sherlock. :D

Thank you so much for the pictures, I love seeing what other people find memorable or interseting about places I've been.

London is always worth a trip, it's such a buzzing, vibrant city, and so many free museums. I had a 'lay over' in London a few weeks ago and spend the afternoon with a drink and a book in a deck chair in St. James Park - very pleasant. Bumping unexpectedly into a Premiere at Leicter Square is always a thrill, though I've never really have wanted to spend hours queueing and waiting to actually be in the front line - so many better things to do in this city. Love Herman the German, whereabouts is that? I'll have to google him and try it next time I'm down there. I'm from the South, so I like my Bratwurst red, not white, and with a Brezel.

Wales is very pretty but the summer this year is really sucky, even for British standards, very cold, wet and windy. I think I said it before, if you every find yourself up north, feel free to swing by in Manchester!

I love London, like you said it's buzzing and vibrant, but to be honest I can stand it only for so long, after that I need some peace and quiet. That's why I love going to Wales after such an amazing weekend in London. ;)

As for Herman ze German, I think there're even more than one in London. I took this picture in Villiers Street (Charing Cross). Enjoy your wurst! ;)

And don't fret about the weather, I think it's actually worse here in Germany. *lol*
And thanks for the offer, I'd love to visit Manchester again, after all it was my home for almost 5 years. But I can't say if or when... :) I'm going to Wrexham in November for the Wales Comic Con, that's all I've planned for now. :)
