Blood Ties, Part 5/6

Sep 29, 2009 19:52

This is what happened, flist. I commented on a post by muchtvs, and somehow she wound up challenging me to post an update of this story, which I haven't touched in a year, by the end of September. I'm sure you've forgotten it too: it's my Trey-and-Ryan-go-to-meet-their-father-when-he's-released-from-prison fic--so old that it was begun before we knew Papa ( Read more... )

Loved your update.
I especially liked the call from Sandy right outside the prison door, this reminds me at your story "In His Shadow" when Ryan sat outside and desperately called Kirsten and Seth.
A call at the right time!
Thank you!

You're welcome! I must admit I had forgotten that scene in "In His Shadow", but I'm flattered that you remembered it.

You sell yourself short. Of course I remembered this fic. The only thing I had to recheck was whether Frank was getting out or just wanted to *see* them. Love your little foray into the land of Young!Ryan - poor woobie.

I'd have to quote the whole damn thing to pick out great lines, but this one resonated with me:

“Those Cohens,” he said, stretching out the words, reshaping every one. “They don’t leave you alone, huh?”

I was hoping you'd finish it the way you did.

But dammit chaz....still no face-to-face with the great and powerful Frank.

And still with older Ryan locked in the lair of the Devil in the other fic....but if you succeed in getting much to give us more of Discovering, you have my admiration (well, you have that anyway, sweetie)

Aw thanks, Chic!

Frank will show up in the next update, I swear on . . . well, not Mom. I actually have the end of this story written. In fact, I have for (*cringes*) more than a year; now all I have to do is write the first part of the last chapter. You wouldn't think that would be so hard, would you? But I must admit, I'm shelving this again until I update "Best Forgotten." I have to get Ryan out of the lair of the Devil, right?

And I'm crossing my fingers that much gives us more Discovering soon!

Abso-f***ing-lutely on everything you said. You know I also usually have the last line written in my head before I put word to computer so I totally get that you've had the end written before the beginning.

*SQUEEEES* over the thought of a 'Best Forgotten' update.

MUCH - - - where the F are you???????

I did the refreshing mini-course. I've made 3 attempts at the commenting. I've gotten 3 "error messages." Just what are database error messages, a blanket term for ambiguous rejection and a power ploy?

I'm picking my battles and coming back- again. Maybe this one will post at least.

I remember this! Great update - thanks. The flashback was especially vivid, and gripping.
